Thanks for the great matchups. I have a $10 UP expiring Sunday and I thought that–heaven forbid–I’d have to buy something at full price.
Thanks, Melody!
I’m sad that the Chapstick is a regional deal, we usually don’t get them and I want free Chapstick! Oh well, I did score some free Blistex from Walgreens a few weeks ago.
Yes, I am addicted to lipbalm. I don’t go anywhere without a a tube of it and a hair tie. (TMI?)
Off to plan my shopping trip, looks like a great week!
Has anyone found the Power and Free Lysol wipes? I haven’t found them yet and have a few coupons that are about to expire.
Another great week
Another coupon for the Tide deal-(exp 9/30)-this month’s P&G-$2/3-still below $4 =$11/3 (which is what I aim for on Tide).
Anyone in the Porland area get an early ad to see if we get the regional items? Thanks.
Charolyn,
I got the ad in the early edition of the Oregonian.
None of the regional deals that Melody listed are in the ad.
Boo Hoo!
There is a Claritin sale in the ad, but it’s for a bigger box so I don’t think it’s the same sale.
You can still do the Tide deal, it’s on the front page!
Appreciate the report. I was suspicious that we wouldn’t get those:-(
Actually I should focus more on the MANY great deals we do get this week-actually will keep me busy enough
Yes there is. That’s a much better way to look at it!
When will the October Video coupons be available for watching?
Probably tonight around 9 PM, but if not, tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow
tonight. i just watched them.
Has anyone done the balloon deal more than once? Just wondering if I can get another $3+up. I got one already.
I did it about 6 times no problems, that was a few weeks ago.
I have a similar question-have done this twice now-the limit:
Florasense Incense Sticks (25 ct) priced at $1.49
Buy 2, Get $3 +UP Reward – limit 2 (through 10/2)
but didn’t get a message on my receipt that I have gotten the max +ups for this. Has anyone ever noticed-does this necessarily mean that I can keep doing it?
I THINK I got a msg recently on a RA receipt that I’d maxed my limit on that UP deal, whatever it was. In the absence of such msg, though, I would not try to outfox their computer system. I looked for those sticks at King City store and saw none in the candle aisle where I had been directed–I was incensed.
just be sure to check your balloons, I bought 2 happy bday packs and every single one was defective. I also bought 2 neon colored ones and they are ok.
There is a 2/2 summer’s eve coupon on their website. It saves you another $0.50 on two.
Dawn Hand renewal is included in the deal (at least in Northeastern New York).
The goldfish deal is not though.
Bummed we don’t have the Goldfish deal! Or the Hormel Compleats! Glad I checked prices before I bought them!
I found store peelies on the small 1.00 goldfish crackers. With my 20% off They were .80 and the store peelies were for .50 off. So got them for .30 each. great deal!!
Simplify paper towel is even a better deal than I thought:
Buy 3 @ $4.99 each.
Get 4 $2Up, (3 weekly and 1 monthly (spend $10 on Simply products, get $2 – exp 10/2)
Thanks for the details-I saw that it was tracking a Simplify +up on my receipt & was going to search & find out why-so you saved me time
Now I am going to check & see if there is another Simplify product that applies to the monthly that is cheaper & I won’t be so much over $10 (it is annoying when the prices are within cents of meeting the +up & you have to buy another one).
According to iheartriteaid it is on TP & paper towels-select varieties.
Looks like it is even a little better with the 20% discount!
I love Rite Aid-it often just keeps getting better & better
The Scunci/Conair deal is actually Buy $10, get $5 +up rewards instead of “buy $8….”
I can verify that the Goldfish and Lay’s Stax specials were NOT available in SW Portland today. Had grabbed a bunch, but put them back after price-check showed full price.
Also, the Pantene deal listed above is not totally right. I bought 4 using the BOGO cpn, but noticed that the $1 UP is on two bottles, not one. So they are $3.50 each, less $3.50 for the cpn and $1/2 UP, or $2.50 for two, not $1.50. Would not have bought them if I’d checked the above posting and the newspaper ad more carefully.
I got the last Natural Dentist mouth rinse and it did ring up with 20% discount, so $4.41 overage after MIR is correct.
Does your store have the catalina machines yet? My store has one and I’ve been gettiing some very nice high value coupons from it. Used a $4/2 Pantene coupon along with the BOGO to get them free after UpR’s.
Frustrated that we never seem to get the cleaning product sales since they started selling alcohol, apparently we’re suppose to use booze to clean with over here. Oh well, I’ll drown my sorrows with the Pringles and Lipton tea I got today.
Darn-I got the pantene deal & forgot I had one of the catalina coupons-but will do it again-so thanks for the reminder
Also Howard-when you buy 4-use 2 BOGO coupons-you can also use another coupon on the 2 items you are paying for-I had a $1/2-so that made it 4/$4-not bad for Pantene.
Next time will be even better with the catalina $2 coupon + 2 BOGO coupons.
I have a $1 catalina on styling product & a $1.50 on any pantene-so I am really going to score the second time!! Thanks again Brenda.
Thanks, I briefly thought about using the 3rd cpn but neglected to. I ended up returning the 4 Pantenes AND the two $1 UPs that I got with them (I try to be honest). After further review, Walgreens has the Pantenes 2 for $8, so buying 4 would cost $16, less two BOGOs ($8) and the $1/2 cpn means you pay $7 and get 3000 Balance points worth $3, or $4 net for 4–same as what you came up with, just a different format.
Sorry to say this now-but I also got the same deal at Albertson’s with the doubles Monday & they ended up being 4/$1 !!
Resolve Spray n Wash is listed with the Lysol cleaning products as 2 for $5 with $1 UP WYB 2. There is a printable $0.50 coupon at powerofresolve.com and you can print 2. $1.50 ea for Spray n Wash WYB 2 is pretty good.
I went to Clackamas Rite Aid today but was very disappointed! Nothing was the price listed on here. I was beginning to think I had looked at the wrong week’s deals!
Right Guard body wash not on sale.
Sundown not on sale (only nature made BOGO)
Kashi bars not on sale.
Our ad in Tri-Cities was pretty small and was missing a few things, notably the Lysol wipes and Dawn. The Sundown and Kashi I had marked as most likely regional. I’m wondering who got those regional deals and why the ads were so different this week?
Good question-what a crazy week.
In Hillsboro-I checked for the carefree, aussie, Ritz & Hormel & we did not get them-I am assuming we didn’t get any of the regional.
We did get the Dawn & lysol & I didn’t find any of the non regional items that we didn’t get.
Seattle area had the Sundown vitamins deal. The cheapest bottle I found was for $3.99, but only one was left. I ended up buying one bottle for $5.29 getting the $3.99 one for free. Used the $1.10 MF sundown coupon and the $1.00 VV coupon and got (2) $3 up rewards. Nice little money maker!!
Hi,
Just an FYI-
I’m in the Seattle area and tried the Simplify Paper Towel deal, but they rang up as $6.99 w/no associated up reward.
Just an FYI if you haven’t figured it out yet you can fill your Lysol automatic soap dispenser with the great deal on Dawn dishwashing soap. I am sure this is a no-no by Lysol, but I just drilled a small hole in the top of the used up Lysol detergent container and filled it with my FREE dawn. I am sure others have figured this out by now, but I just did. Wanted to pass along.
I didn’t & my son wants more-but I told him, only if there is another
great sale-so thanks for the idea
There are YouTube videos that show how to pop the bottom off, we’ve been refilling all year =D
Oh, even better idea heycupcake. Like I said, I am a little bit behind on that one! I will blame it on mommy brain!
Thank you!
I bought 2 applebees GC in one transaction and the 5UPs didn’t print. When I called rite aid CS they said they have to be purchased sepately for the UPs to print. Very weird. The paper towels UP printed for me in Tacoma area as did the goldfish. Didnt try the vitamins cause I forgot the coupon ;/.
So did you get 1 of the 5 UpR’s or none? How weird. You probably can’t return those and re-do the transaction can you? How disappointing, but at least you scored the paper towels and Goldfish deals!
The $5 +up on $10 food products-there is also a .75 pringles coupon-the wholegrain kind which they do carry (now whether they have any in stock… another question)-think it is 9/9 RP-coupontom lists it as $1.50/2-so looks like they vary.
I am thinking of getting 2 tuna ($1 coupon), 2 pringles ($1.50 coupons), 2 canned salmon=$11 -$5 +up-$2.50 coupons =$3.50 = about .60 each (and includes 4 cans of fish!).
I hope you find the multigrain pringles, they don’t carry them at my store but it’s a pretty small one. This food deal is so good I might have to go check out the other store tomorrow, they are much bigger but not friendly to couponers.
I found some on a back end cap at the one in Hillsboro-Sunset Esplanade today. I also looked at the one on 185th (which is actually larger) & they didn’t seem to have any. However today is the
day both stores unpack freight-so maybe later.
Today I realized 2# rice is also part of this (yes Melody didn’t miss it-I did!)-
I have $1 towards it again & the rice is 2/$3-so if I get 6=$9 -$5 +up-I will have 12# of rice (brown or white) for $4 /.34 per lb !!
Knowledgeable bulk Winco shoppers-is this a better price?
Long grain brown or white rice are both around $.50/lb at Winco in bulk. I just checked a ton of their prices for my stock-up list!
Just in case you’re dying to know what my list looks like.
http://www.beautifulfrugallife.com/2011/01/pantryhousehold-stock-up-price-list/
Thanks I appreciate it & this will be very useful, I don’t retain all this info in my brain like I used to
Just looked it over & it is GREAT! Pretty much what my prices I aim for are also & your philosophy: some items you can do without (ever since avocados went above .50-I rarely buy them), and some you just look for the best available price when you need them & run out.
I will definitely share this with others-I am going to teach a lady from my church soon also.
Note to anyone who did the $5 cashback on $10 purchase deals from Savings Star for Lipton Iced Tea and/or Pure Leaf iced tea: I did both at Albertson’s on Sunday, and they posted today in only 3 days. Once you hit $5 in that program, you can request a payout to your bank account or PayPal. You have to register for Savings Star, then activate whatever coupons or deals interest you. Your savings accumulate till you hit the $5 benchmark. You must link your Alby’s, FM or RA cards to this program to get the full benefit.
I did the Lipton deal at Rite Aid on Sunday and was suprised to find it already credited to my account yesterday. It’s interesting how it works, I’m still waiting on some cereal and yogurt credits to show up that I bought last week.
I always just activate all of the coupons available when new ones pop up. The best is when you totally forget about something being on there until you get an email from SavingStar that your account has been credited!
Excellent! I know there’s a $5 minimum to redeem Sav Star rewards, but I wonder if you have say $5.60 can you redeem the whole thing at once, or must it be in $5 increments? Didn’t matter this time because I got $10 for Lipton/Pure Leaf.
No Howard, thankfully it’s not like Walgeens!
You can request any amount of money once you’ve hit the $5 minimum.
Thanks, will try to remember this. In the meantime, I just shot off an email to Walgreens about how much credit will be left on Bal Rewards if I earn 40K points and use small amounts at a time for redemptions. Guess I’m playing Don Quixote lately what with my back and forth with Safeway and now Wags. Will share any info I get back. I’m guessin’ that if you have 40K points ($50) and use 20K ($20) to redeem at once, you will NOT have $30 credit left but rather $20 or whatever 20K points are worth.
I called them about the same thing. You’re right, you have to use the $50 credit all at once or you will lose the extra credits. I finally figured out how to spend $50 at one time (Luckily, Grandma needed me to get her some things) and it went much smoother than I was anticipating. I was even allowed to use the credit towards some of my tax. I thought I was keeping track of my totals, but a few things rang up on sale.
The thing that I wonder about and no one could answer when I called them is, how many points can I rack up? I wish we could get the extra points for every $50 we earn and I would keep them until Christmas. If I can’t earn extra points past the first $50 then I want to cash them in as soon as I hit that total. It would work if we had a week with several free after RR items.
We’ll just have to see how this all plays out as the program goes on. It’s nice to compare notes and see if we can figure out the best way to play their “game”.
