Rite Aid: Information on Season of Savings +UP Reward Promotion

by Melody on December 1, 2011

Several of you have been asking questions on how the new “Season of Savings” +UP Reward promotion works at Rite Aid this month, so I dug up some information.

Starting this current week (11/27 – 12/3), you will receive an additional $10 +UP Reward when you spend $50 on participating products that are marked in the weekly ad.  From the press release I read, there will be 4 different promotions running through Christmas Eve.  Each week, your totals will reset and there will be products changing week to week.  Your totals within the week will track on your receipt, but will reset with the new ads released every Sunday.

According to the press release, you can earn up to $40 in +UP Rewards.  This means that if you earned the +UP Reward this week, you can earn up to 3 more in the following weeks.  I will highlight all the listed participating products in each week’s match ups.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.  I will do my best to answer.

Be sure to check out the rest of this week’s Rite Aid deals here.

Good job- also realize that if you can’t spend $50, you lose out. Given the stock in my store, I won’t even try.

You have to read the fine print on the products included as well. I purchased two packs of batteries that had the “star” but only ONE pack counted towards the special Up Rewards.

I had that experience this week also with the rite aid brand tampons-didn’t count, but on the same sale the pads did. (it was still a great price at .75 per box) I assumed as the ad had it by that deal-it would apply to all items-but was wrong. Look closely at the labels in the store-there is a red star for this & another red symbol (forget what it is exactly) on other labels-they are very similar.

Can I use 2 of my up rewards towards the purchase of the $50 and will I still get a $10 up?

Definitely! They treat them just like cash.

This week the Theraflu is included in this deal- 4.99 with 2+UP. There’s a $2 printable coupon (bricks) and a $2 off any Theraflu in the flu book… making this a .99 MM, plus goes towards this Season of Savings.

I had some ups to use up this week, so I did the St. Joe’s Aspirin $4.99, $4 up, 2 Theraflu, $9.98, 2-$2 ups & then the Conair Hair appliances (Christmas gifts for long haired daughters) ~ buy $30 & get a $10 up. These all counted towards the buy $50 sos & get a $10 up. Used coupons for each of the items too & got back $28 ( $10 sos, $10 conair, 2-$2 Theraflu & $4 St. Joe) in ups. I broke the transactions up to get the lowest oop & the sos tracked just fine.

Best part ~ I am now really close to the 1000 points in Wellness for the 20% off. Didn’t think I was going to make it, but looks like I will now!

I just did my trip today and there seems to be a ton more stuff included in the Season of Savings than what’s marked in the flyer. I spent about $35 oop (with $5.50 coming back to me in SCR) and somehow accumulated $46 for Season of Savings. I guess I’ll have to buy a couple more items to get that $10 reward back! I got 1 box mini candy canes, Oral-B cross action TB, 2 NM Vit D (10.49 BOGO), 4 BOGO Gift wraps, St. Jo Aspirin, 2 bags holiday Hershey’s Kisses, 2 Duracell packs, 1 Theraflu, Maalox and Prevacid, and Zantac. From the flyer I can only find 4 items totalling 22.97 (Candy Canes, Vit D, Aspirin, and Theraflu) that qualifies. Any ideas what else was included?

I know the Duracell was b/c I bought two of those, otherwise I’m not sure. This could turn out to better each week than we think!

This is probably wishful thinking but MAYBE items from last week are included also?
If anyone experiences this-be sure to let us know!
Check the tags by the products also-as they do have a star on them.

if on the bottom of my receipt it says the following:

****************************************************
$10+up when $50 purchased Total $5.00
$10 Covergirl Blas $3+UP Total $4.00
$10 Maybelline lip/eye $3+UP Total $7.00
$15 Prestige $4+UP Total $12.00
**********************************************************
what does this mean?
i have also included 3 +UP Reward coupons to be used as money on my next purchase. Can you help me?

That basically means you are partway towards earning a number of +UP rewards (Rite Aid dollars). So you have $5 so far towards a $50 total that will earn you a $10 reward. $4 towards a $10 Covergirl total needed to earn a $3 reward. $7 towards a $10 Maybelline that will earn you $3 and $12 towards the Prestige award for which you need a total of $15 spent to earn $4 back. Definitely try to do the last two at least, as you are close enough that buying something to get to that total is like getting it free after the +UP reward.
