Rite Aid: Journey to my $20 +UP Reward (don’t pass out from excitement)

by Melody on February 13, 2012

As most of you know, Rite Aid is running their amazing “Winter Rewards” program again this month: Spend $100 on participating products through March 3rd, get a $20 +UP Reward.  I thought I would take you along on my journey to reach $100, to see how little out of pocket I can spend and still reach the $100.

Week 1:

Out of pocket spent: Profit of $1.10
Received: $6 in +UP Rewards
Total spent towards “Resolution Rewards”: $12

Week 2:

GE CFL Light Bulb $3.99
Palmer’s Valentine’s Candy $.88

Used $1/1 GE coupon from 2/12 SS insert
Used $3/1 GE Rite Aid store coupon from weekly ad

Out of pocket spent: $.88
Still have: $6 in +UPs
Total spent towards “Resolution Rewards”: $16

Even after this week’s purchase, I still have made a profit of $.22 and have $6 in +UPs to spend.  I’ve only spent $16 towards the $100, so I’m hoping for some fantastic deals on items we need over the next few weeks.  Even if I don’t hit the $100, I’m pretty thrilled with how little I’ve spent so far.

See you next week for another action-packed installment of “How little can Melody actually spend?”.

I’d love to hear about your shopping trips this week!

Next week’s ad looks very promising with free colgate toothpaste and cheap toothbrushes that will count towards the winter reward. I’m with you though, I make sure that I’m happy with my weekly transactions and consider the $20upr an added bonus if I get there. This month seems much easier for me than last month was, I already have $84 towards it and have spent under $1 to get there!

That’s funny, last month was easier for me just based on what we needed in our stock pile. Thanks for the heads up on next week!

Melody do you know if the $25 Advil $10+UP is monthly?

I wish I did, I’ll have to check signage. I wish I had known about it this morning, I was just there!

I believe you can buy more of the lightbulbs-did anyone see if there was a limit? With a coupon from their ad I do believe that you can only get one per transaction though. I plan to go back a few more times this week (but then the store is very close to me).

I went back in to check prices for next week and bought one more light bulb. Now I’m at $20! :)

I was able to buy 4 in one transaction. I just asked how many I can buy with the coupon. She said 1 but we have plenty of q’s
