If you want to stock up on Kellogg’s cereal, today is your day! There’s a catalina promotion that ends today (Wednesday) that works well with sales at both Albertsons and Safeway:
Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Cocoa Krispies, Honey Smacks
{Buy 3, Get $1 Catalina}
{Buy 4, Get $3 Catalina}
{Buy 5+, Get $4 Catalina}
This catalina will roll to a second transaction at either store.
Here’s the scenario for Safeway:
Buy any 5 boxes of Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops or Cocoa Krispies on sale $2.50 each = $12.50
Use (2) $1/2 coupons from 3/7 RP insert
Use 2 Safeway doubles (-$1)
Get promo savings (-$5)
Pay $4.50, Get $4 Catalina
$.10 each after coupons, doubles & cat
And here’s the deal scenario for Albertsons:
Buy any 4 boxes of Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops, Honey Smacks or Cocoa Krispies on sale $1.88 each = $7.52
Use (2) $1/2 coupons from 3/7 RP insert
Pay $5.52, Get $3 Catalina
$.63 each after coupons & cat
Why would you shop Albertsons instead of Safeway? If you would like to use a catalina from a previous promotion to lower your out-of-pocket.

I’m confused as to how the Safeway is only $1.5 OOP…
$12.50 – $5 (promo savings) = $7.50
$7.50 – $2 ($1/2 coupons) = $5.50
$5.50 – $1(safeway double) = $4.50 oop (Get $4 catalina)
Am I missing something?
Thanks!
The Safeway math does not add up…am I missing something?
Yes, it’s called “fuzzy math.” I don’t know how I manage to mess up such simple arithmetic. Thanks ladies!
I agree that the safeway math isn’t correct.
Plus I’ve got two shelves full of cereal…so I’m staying home from the store today!
Does anyone know of a printable Kellogg’s coupon or one from a previous insert? I want to do the deal twice but only have 3 inserts. Thanks!
Angela, if it makes you feel better I have fuzzy math too
I’m usually posting a deal while taking care of my little ones. So I have to go back and make sure I made sense after posting, lol!
Anyways, I wanted to let your readers now that I did the Froot loops/Corn pops deal. They are $1 ea wyb 5 and the Se Woodstock Safeway had $.70 (DND) blinkies right next to them. So cereal for $.30 each plus I got the $4 cat.
Christina
I just got back from the Dallas Safeway (and wasn’t even planning to buy cereal!) and noticed that there are $1/1 peelies on most of the Kelloggs cereals (even the healthy ones)!! This makes your scenario that much better. Of course, the healthy ones are not included in the Catalina, but it makes for FREE Corn Flakes and 50ยข Rice Krispies (and much, much more!). I’ll post my Safeway picture soon!
Okay, here’s my trip: http://kelleighratzlaff.com/life/crazy-healthy-safeway-score/
I’m about to head to Safeway and had a question. Can I do the above deal and get the catalina in the same transaction with the fruit snacks and get that catalina as well?
Yes, both cats should print in one transaction.
I used 5 of the .70 off blinkie coupons and ended up getting the cereal free. I bought the wrong fruit snacks so no catalina printed, plus the e coupons did not come off. Ended up paying $5 for 5 boxes of cereal and 5 fruit snacks…not bad.
Thanks for posting this. I just bought 4 boxes at Albertsons: 2 Fruit loops and 2 Frosted Flakes all for $2.02. I used a $3.50 Catalina from fruit snacks I bought earlier in the week plus two $1.00 coupons. Thanks for helping me save my family some money, your site is much appreciated by me.
I think I did pretty good this time. I don’t like to spend money on sugar cereals for the kids, but at these prices I couldn’t pass it up and they’re happy. I bought 2 boxes of fruit loops and two boxes of apple jacks and one bag of nut clusters. I had a coupon for the cereal and the nut clusters plus the safeway doubles plus the e-coupons and ended up paying $0.30 OOP and received the $3.00 CAT for the cereal.
My next purchase was 4 fruit gushers, 1 nut cluster, 4 hamburger helper, 3 barilla pasta, 3 bags of salad, 2 mushrooms, 2 avacados and I needed peanut butter (which I realized later I had a coupon for, oh well), had coupons, e-coupons, doubler and used the CAT. I spent $10.05 OOP and received the $2.50 fruit snack CAT for next time.
I was soooooo jazzed with my savings, it paid for the haircuts my kids just received, thank you, thank you, thank you!!
