Safeway: Another Frozen Foods Promo scenario (Michael Angelo’s)

by Angela on March 1, 2010

UPDATE: I just realized that the coupons are good on single serve entrees only. I’ve changed the scenario to reflect this.

Clean out your freezer! The frozen foods promos at Safeway and Albertsons are getting exciting! Try out this one at Safeway:

Michael Angelo’s Single Serve Entrees on sale $2.99
Buy 8 = $23.92
Buy 2 Green Giant Frozen Vegetables = $3.38
Use (4)
BOGO Michael Angelo’s coupons (-$11.96)
Use $.50/2 Cellfire Green Giant eCoupon
Use $.50/2 Shortcuts Green Giant eCoupon
Pay $14.34, Get $10 Catalina
$4.34 after coupons & cat

These catalinas will roll to a second transaction. You can either do the same Michael Angelo’s deal or another one.

To get the Michael Angelo’s BOGO coupons, you will need to register then watch one of the six videos. You will be emailed a coupon.

Be sure to check out the Weight Watchers Smart Ones deal posted previously.

I’ve watched 3 videos, all the coupons are for the single serve. Does anyone know if there is a coupon for the family size?

Yeah, I don’t think this works as the coupons have a low dollar cap.

I also just got the single serve coupon after watching a couple different videos. Oh well!

There are some e-coupons for green giant veggies on shortcuts.com and cellfire.com and both work for Safeway.

Ok, I watched a couple videos but never found a place to answer the questions in order to receive the coupons – what am I doing wrong? I did post a comment on the February Discussion Table question and received a pdf coupon via email for my comment. Since this is pdf, can I print more than one?

I got the email with the link for the single serve after I watched the video. I saw on another website that someone noticed that the link has a coupon number 2 at the end of it. If you copy and paste the link into your browser and replace the two with a one, the family size BOGO comes up. Bring on the frozen dinners!

did you just watch 1 video? I watched 3, I think, because I kept waiting for it to ask me questions about the video, but nothing……

I did just watch one. The questions were right under the video. I could fill them in as I watched when I scrolled down. Were you logged into the site? I had to register first (and wait a while for them to email me a password) before it worked. Hope that helps.

I registered and logged in, but nothing. When I first clicked the link from here, before registering, the questions were very obvious. But once I registered, I couldn’t seem to get back to that page, it was just a page full of videos & photos, but no questions.

do you need more than one computer to print 4 bogo’s?

Reply

Kelley March 1, 2010 at 7:55 pm

Since they are pdf, I think you can print four from one computer.

I too saw from another web site that you can change the URL to get the coupon. I just wanted to throw out some ethical support to anyone else that doesn’t feel right about doing this. (I promise, no hard feelings.)

I’m glad you said that, Jamie. Standing with your conscience is exactly the right thing, and it’s hard when the herd is running the other way. good call. :)

Geez, how long does the registration email take to get? I did this early yesterday afternoon and still haven’t gotten it.

How does this roll? I worked this deal this morning on the Charmin and Bounty and the catalina said it can’t be used toward P&G products.

Has anyone found a list of participating products for this freezer promotion? It doesn’t look like the add has all of them. Thanks.

Did anyone try this? Did it trigger the catalina? The single-serve ones didn’t have the logo at my store…so did it work?

The single serve triggered the Catalina for me in Spokane, WA!

My store doesn’t carry the single serves which kind of bites because I had the Vocal Point coupons for those. Anyway, I haven’t seen anyone post yet that the $10 catalina is off frozen items ONLY. I didn’t know that, maybe I missed the fine print somewhere, but I really thought that sucked.

Yeah, it totally sucked that you can only use the 10.00 on frozen food items. I was planning on rolling it a couple times and then getting groceries I needed. Guess I’ll stock up on boneless, skinless chicken. :(

Totally sucked! It doesn’t say it in the ad… it says “on your next shopping trip”. I bought some chicken, thinking I could use the $10 for diapers we are desperately in need of and then to see that I could only use it on frozen foods, ugh! I was about ready to cry in front of the cashier when it wouldn’t pay for my diapers b/c we are literally down to 3 left. I was with cranky kids, so I just left, but I think I might go back and protest b/c the ad is misleading and almost false advertisement. I am getting very close to not shopping at Safeway. All I have are problems.

I sent an email to Safeway, after reading the ad once AGAIN. There is no where anywhere on the ad that has some fine print saying “good on frozen foods ONLY”. It clearly states “on your next grocery purchase”. I want them to honor their advertising! I’ll report back what they say.

I was wondering if you purchased one frozen food item and other non-food items if the coupon will work? Not sure if anyone has tried this approach.

You could use the $1/1 frozen smoothie E coupon & Printed coupon for $1/1, use the Safeway double, it would then be only be $.50 leaving you $9.50 to go towards for your non-food items!

did you find anything out?

Jessica March 3, 2010 at 9:18 pm

Since this promotion is supposed to be all of March, do you think it is safe to assume that other frozen items will be on sale next week? I have 2 transactions planned and I am wondering if I should hold my 2nd cat to roll into next week?

About the MA BOGO coupon – I think you are expected to print only one. If you print more MQ’s than one, then you are wrongly doing this.
There is a discussion in the SD forum, under Safeway deals, about this being trouble. The MQ’s include a unique code that ID’s whose email received the MQ. If there are tons of MQ’s with the same ID, then they can trace it back to the email address, who received it.
And this could cause problems for this CAT; maybe they would pull it like Purex’s cat was pulled.

To clarify, yes the single serves are on the March Madness Safeway list. Also, you may want to just ask your store to print out the list. Not all the products on the list have that special tag on the racks because even the workers get confused. The stores policy is all the March Madness items will be on the $25 – $10 special, it’s just the sales that rotate not the produce. As for multi-prints of the coupon, Lucy is right, each Email address is significant, if you use multiple, or if you find another offer that lets you get this coupon, by all means, use it, but printing more than the allowed isn’t right. Also, please note the gmail servers have a hard time taking these emails might want to use an alternate server. Aloha and happy couponing.
