You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page.

We are proud to be apart of The Grocery Gathering over at BeCentsAble, posting for Safeway in Oregon & SW Washington.

The Del Monte Orchard Select Jarred Fruit is SOOOOOOO YUMMMMY! Especially the grapefruit… add some plain organic yogurt and some honey…. Sorry! I must be hungry! I Really just wanted to mention that if you don’t have the vocal point coupons, go to —— to print some high value coupons. I wish they would reset for me!

You may want to check this link!! I think it’s wrong!!

Agreed! DONT GO TO THE SITE ABOVE. It’s obviously wrong (has links to porn sites on it) Can this be deleted so others don’t click on it????

OMG! OMG! OMG!

I should have typed http://www.fruitundressed.com

I AM SO SORRY IF I’VE OFFENDED ANYONE. This is why I shouldn’t have a blog of my own. There is a BIG difference between “naked” and “undressed.” I hope I can laugh about this someday, but right now I feel TOTALLY EMBARRASED AND ASHAMED. I should have double checked the link. I apologize in particular to Angela. I never meant to sully your wonderful blog, just share my love for this Del Monte fruit product.

Thanks readers for alerting me to this. I do hope the link or comment can be removed.

hee hee- don’t worry too much- honest mistake! I had a friend who was trying to order hot lips pizza (downtown portland) once. She typed in what she THOUGHT was the web address. Um, nope. She got that wrong & was directed to an unsavory site! It happens!

That’s funny! I mean that you honestly didn’t mean to put that….. it’s weird how changing one little word around can do that, huh? I know it was an honest mistake – just wanted to make sure no one else clicked on it —- good thing the kiddo’s weren’t by me when I opened it. hah!

Is anyone having trouble using the Ranchers Reserve eCoupon? I went last night and got $14 (after discounts) of Ranchers Reserve meat and the coupon didn’t apply.

Reply

Barb April 20, 2010 at 6:39 am

The Rancher’s Reserve ecoupon deducts from the price of the product rather than a line item of its own. I bought a $12 beef roast and it’s shown on my receipt as $10. It was also in the clearanced meats so they took 50% off the $12. End result: $12 – $6 50% off meat reduction – $2 eQ = $4.

certain varieties of lunchables are on sale for $1. Use the $1/1 from the 3/21 SS for some free lunchables :)

Joelle April 14, 2010 at 8:09 am

Yes, I have had trouble with the Ranchers Reserve ecoupon. I have gotten over the $10 twice now and it has never come off. I haven’t had much luck with the Safeway ecoupons working for me. My Cellfire and Shortcuts always work. I don’t know. Next time I will print out my list of ecoupons loaded and if it doesn’t come off – just take it to CS and they should reimburse my money.

Reply

Nicole April 14, 2010 at 9:00 am

I had the same problem, none of the Safeway e-coupons come off and I have to go to CS to have the correct it. Irritating!

Reply

Mommy April 14, 2010 at 9:48 am

I haven’t had a problem with the ecoupons. I have noticed that the safeway one’s (from their site) show up as ‘cardsavings’ on the receipt. So when you look, you might think you didn’t get the $ off. Where the P&G show up as MF coupons.

Reply

Annye April 14, 2010 at 10:44 am

I don’t believe we can use the Safeway double coupons on the Nature Valley/Cheerios deal; the print coupons all state DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE at the top.

Reply

Steph April 14, 2010 at 10:48 am

I was just at the Tillamook Safeway and, for some reason, no-one is receiving the $10/$25 cat for the P&G products. It didn’t work on my order and when I went to CS, they tried to manually get it to print with a variety of products and couldn’t get it to work. Seems there’s some computer issue. They ended up giving me back $10 cash. Even better! Anyone else in other cities having this problem?

Does anyone know if the deal works on Honey Nut Cheerios?

Reply

Steph April 14, 2010 at 10:59 am

Nope. I wanted Honey Nut when I was just at the store and they’re not on the special. It was only the original Cheerios.

Kara April 14, 2010 at 12:37 pm

Returned from Safeway and they are telling me that I can not use multiple IP coupons for the same “product”. I tried 4 IP’s Quaker Oats Instant oatmeal for the buy 5 mix and match deal. Accepting only one IP coupon per product??? I didn’t buy and need to refigure the mix and match deals now if this is actually in there policy. If I find more out I’ll post. (Keizer Safeway)

Reply

Christa April 14, 2010 at 5:24 pm

I’ve had some interaction with managers and checkers at various stores in Salem and have come to the conclusion that there is one manager in particular who is not up to date with Safeway’s coupon policy. The manager was at the Keizer store and is now at the South Salem store. I’ve been told by checkers at both stores that he has taught his checkers that they are not allowed to take a rain check that was written at another store. I was informed by the manager that does corporate training on policy that this is absolutely incorrect. So my thought is that this particular manager is not up to date on policy and has trained the Keizer checkers and now the South Salem checkers incorrectly, and in how many areas who knows. We need a Safeway coupon policy to have printed out. I believe there is one. Does anyone know where to locate it?

Reply

Sally April 14, 2010 at 10:15 pm

I have been told that at 2 different Safeways. They say 2 is the limit since that is how many you can print per computer. One cashier even told me they would dock her hrs if she took more than 2 of the same IP.

Reply

Carrie April 16, 2010 at 10:01 am

I was just looking on the Safeway website earlier this week and noticed that there is a link with coupon policy. I haven’t printed it out, but it was there.

Reply

Rebecca April 14, 2010 at 1:39 pm

Kara, that’s insane. They obviously don’t know how to tell a copy from a printable (that’s the only reason I can think of); If it happens again ask the manager to look at the 16-digit barcode on the upper right portion of the printable; If it were a copy the # wouldn’t be different.

SW really needs to educate their personnel better – they are quickly becoming known as non-coupon-friendly. It just doesn’t make sense – apparently they don’t realize that in these tough times those of us who coupon bring in more money for their store than regular shoppers We actually work to find ways for manufacturers to pay them more – you’d think they’d show a little appreciation……….????

Reply

Amy April 14, 2010 at 3:25 pm

Is it me or is Safeway becoming less and less coupon friendly? My local stores will only accept one internet printable, regardless of whether they have different codes or not. And today, I had three IP’s and my doubles and was told the fine print on the doubles now states not for sure with Printable coupons!!! Very frustrating that they are limiting us on legitimate coupons!

Reply

Rebecca April 14, 2010 at 4:51 pm

It’s not you, Amy – I agree – it’s extremely irritating – I’m less likely to shop there now. I did email their blogsite today asking for answers and rationale for their inconsistent coupon practices as well as how coupon shoppers are treated. We’ll see…… The IPs should be treated just like cash; they way they treated you and others is just like holding up two $1 bills and saying they an only accept one per item – STUPID.

Reply

Lisa April 14, 2010 at 8:54 pm

They have been horrible in my area! I have been told everything from they don’t accept a coupon, safeway doubles or that they wouldn’t take any coupon because I would save too much!

Reply

Cori April 14, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Use the Alberstons Quaker coupon (Manufacturer’s) to get Instant Oatmeal at Safeway (Buy 5 @ $1.50) for $.90. And if your Safeway doubles, $.80. A little bit cheaper than Albertsons at $1.40. Every little bit helps!

Reply

Christy April 14, 2010 at 4:34 pm

If you guys like pop tarts there a great deal on those too. My kids like them, but I give them as treats or snacks vs. breakfast. Plus, I admit…I like them every now and then too…it reminds me of when I was a kid. But, nonetheless…they are $1 WYB 5 plus there is a coupon for $1.25 WYB 3.

So, you pick up 5 boxes, use one coupon and it makes them 75 cents a box
pick up 10 boxes, use three coupons and it makes it 62 cents a box
pick up 15 boxes, use 5 coupons and it makes it 58 cents a box!!!

Reply

Francoise Kipfer April 14, 2010 at 4:47 pm

Thanks for the Pop-Tarts scenario Christy!

Reply

Rebecca April 14, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Yeah, and don’t forget to get 5 different varieties of the specially marked ones so you can send in for the free movie ticket – super sweet deal!!

Reply

Christina April 15, 2010 at 11:10 pm

When I picked them up last week they were marked $1 each when you buy “5 OR MORE”. So, if it still states that on the tag you could buy increments of 3 to get the max out of the coupon. I bought 6 this way and it came out to $50 each.

Reply

Rebecca April 14, 2010 at 4:56 pm

Angela, are you sure about the fine print on the P&G deal? I looked at it and it reads that the $25 threshold excludes coupons which is to say, I believe, the total amount exclusive of coupons (ie before coupons) – at least, that’s how I’ve interpreted in the past and I still received my OYNO cat…

michelle April 14, 2010 at 7:48 pm

Help! I have looked for the following coupons like THREE times – I am flipping through the inserts & not seeing them. Are other people missing/finding these coupons:
Lunchables: $1/1 coupon from 3/21 SS insert
Post Pebbles: $1/2 coupons from 3/14 SS insert

I’m in Milwaukie, maybe my inserts just don’t have these?

Reply

Angela April 14, 2010 at 8:44 pm

I know the Pebbles coupons were not released in the Northwest, but I thought the Lunchables was. But now I can’t find it either.

Someone else help!

Reply

Sally April 14, 2010 at 10:21 pm

My Lunchables coupon was in 3/21 SS. Same page as O.M bacon coupon. I get the Oregonian. On the side of my insert it says Portland Oregonian. Hope that helps.

Reply

Sally April 15, 2010 at 12:31 am

there is also a Cellfire Q for lunchables. not sure if it matches with the size on sale or not. Anyone know??

Reply

charolyn April 18, 2010 at 8:48 pm

I tried the lunchables twice-first the $1 ones-the ecoupon didn’t work on them, but did work next time on the larger $2 size.

cristina April 14, 2010 at 8:56 pm

did this deal twice today, make sure you only buy with a total of 20 items (4 sets of 5), otherwise it will not take off the additoinal $5 for every 5 products. I just glanced at the fine print and thought it was a limit of 20 on each particular item, so needless to say I have to go back because it didn’t take $5 of 3 of my items totaling $15

Ketra Campbell April 14, 2010 at 10:02 pm

Hi. I was just at Safeway and they stated that they just changed there coupon policy to where you can not use a coupon that is over 50% of the total value. So they would not allow the Safeway seafood coupon for .99 and then a manufacture coupon for a $1.oo. Has anyone else run into this?

Reply

charolyn April 14, 2010 at 10:22 pm

I have been reading that many people are running into this. But in Hillsboro here, I have used such coupons many times & have never had them denied or even questioned. Sounds like it depends on where you shop-sorry!

Reply

Sonja April 15, 2010 at 4:04 am

I actually emailed Safeway about this issue and was issued an email from them saying that the value of the item is the regular price and not sale price. Soooo….they should still be taking your coupons. One store I shop at (at least used to) would never let me use my coupons and the other store hasn’t given me any problems. I hope this helps.

Reply

Kara April 14, 2010 at 10:25 pm

I remember something about this, there are so many rules now with Safeway. I can tell you what I did learned today after talking with the manager for awhile. I was very nice by the way :) She confirmed I can only use one IP coupon per product, yes I pointed out they have different numbers so it can not be a copy. Didn’t matter. Also, they won’t accept coupons that only have two bar codes on it, it must have three. So my Smartsource coupons no good. I asked if it was different as each store and they said it is a Safeway policy. Hopefully she was wrong but they kept saying “it’s because of so much coupon fraud happening.” In fact, she indicated that they will be going away from accepting IP coupons all together. Hmmm….. that was my day. Just made me work harder on mix and matching using coupons, still had some good deals. Just a pain!

Del Monte Orchard Select Jarred Fruit on sale BOGO
there was one BOGO Q in that VP mailing with the $1 ones – so you should be able to get 2 free jars or at least buy one and get 2 free – one from store and one from bogo Q -in which case you could use one $1 Q also.

I had a great night at Safeway last night. In Springfield I have never run into the issue with IP coupons. In fact, my checkers even take the doubles off regardless if the coupon say DND. I think it is a store by store issue. Maybe be store is doing it wrong, but it was a great night for me. bought 2 Nature Valley, 1 Cluster and 2 boxes of Cheerios, used a .40/1 IP for a box of Granola bars and a $1/2 for Cheerios. Had cellfire and shortcuts loaded for clusters ($2) and Granola Bars (3-/40cents/1) and paid $1.90 for all of it. If I had printed out another granola bar coupon, it would have been $1.5 for 5 items! I think back to the days when I thought a box of cereal on sale for $1.50 was a great deal and sigh :) Also found Danimals marked down 50% and cottage cheese 50% plus all dozen eggs were .49 cents! Crazy great price. Date on those was next week. I think they still are good beyond the date, especially in baked goods.

Reply

charolyn April 18, 2010 at 8:52 pm

Here’s a tip to tell if your eggs are still good-put them in a cup of water-if they float they aren’t. I rarely use eggs, so mine are always old and this really works. They last weeks past the due date.

I just went to Safeway in Newberg and they are not letting you double any Printed coupon. Frustrating! I don’t really know what difference it makes if you have a paper coupon or a printed coupon Why does it matter? Anyway I also found that they have a glade air freshener in add coupon for .75 cents and in the paper last week they had a .75 cent coupon so it makes it FREE. I love Safeway’s deals but I am starting to loath shopping there. Every time I have shopped there the price scanned has been wrong on at least one item and I always have to go to Cs.

Reply

Lisa April 15, 2010 at 3:57 pm

Sarah-They have been doing that in Newberg Safeway for a while now. I was told that by the store manager 3 or 4 months ago.(she told me it was a corporate thing, and ALL Safeways should be doing it) I still found that some cashiers did it though-maybe they weren’t aware of it. I go to Sherwood or Mac Safeway if I can, they have no problems with it (so far). Newberg is the worst in my opinion!

Again confirmed that a Vancouver, WA Safeway will only accept ONE “double coupon” coupon printed in the weekly Safeway ad. The Mgr confirmed – they will only double 4 Mfr coupons up to 50 cents each per trip. Has anyone else found this to be true at their Safeway?

Nanell Clark April 15, 2010 at 9:54 pm

FREE KOOL_AID FUN FIZZ. My safeway has them on sale 2 for $3 use the $1.00 off coupon form the 3/28 SS and with doubles they are free. My store also had a tear pad on the end cap with the product for $1 off 1. The SS one expires 4/25 but the tear pad one is good til 12/31 yeah.

It doesn’t seem like anyone’s had an issue with Shortcuts, but I recently did. I tried to buy Pup-eroni dog treats while they were on sale at Safeway but the e-coupons didn’t come off at the register. I actually had 3, non-expired Shortcuts coupons for Pup-eronis loaded on my card at the time. (I wasn’t sure if all 3 would work, but I figured at least 1 would!). None of them did. I returned the treats because I was only going to buy them if I could get the in-store sale along with at least one of the e-coupons.

Now I’m a little leery of Shortcuts — don’t know when the coupons will work and when they won’t. I don’t want to have to return things again. It’s aggravating as well as a little embarrassing. I also noticed that there really is no “customer service” on Shortcuts if something goes wrong. No number to call – only a dispute form to fill-out, but the customer service at Safeway kept my receipt once I returned the items, so I didn’t have the info I needed to fill-out the dispute form and least let them know the coupons didn’t work.

Reliability at the register should be a HUGE deal for companies like Shortcuts (AOL owned). I just wish I knew how I could prevent this from happening again. Maybe there’s really no way to?

Reply

Debbie April 17, 2010 at 10:25 am

I’ve had trouble lately with shortcuts as well. Not sure why – but it’s frustrating! If anyone figures it out – please post. It’s especially discouraging because I have reached my limit of downloadable coupons and until I use mine up – I can’t load anymore. :-( I am trying, people, but they’re not coming off. Rats!

I have 2 starbucks ecoupons loaded for $2/2, plus there is a printable for $1/2. certain varieties are on sale for $2.79 which makes 2 only 58 cents. unless your store doubles – then it would be 8 cents!

Just back from Safeway. The larger 24 oz. jars of La Victoria salsa (my Dallas store only carries Medium heat) are BOGO at $3.79. If you print a $4/2 coupon from LaVic Rewards, it could be a moneymaker!! Especially if you can double. My cashier caught it, though, and adjusted down. Still, I ended up with 4 large jars of salsa for free!!

The BOGO deal ends May 2nd.

A side note on the ecoupons-at Fred Meyer today-I bought 3 betty crocker potatoes & had one ecoupon for it, which the system counted as one, so it rejected one of my paper coupons (I had 3). This is the first time it has happened to me-usually I can use both overlapping, although I haven’t had much experience using ecoupons at FM-more at Safeway. Perhaps the system is catching up & correcting a loophole!
