Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page.

In the Wednesday’s Oregonian on page A3 there is a $10 off of $50 purchase good thru 8/24/10 and 3 coupons for chicken breast $1.79lb, first 2 milk for $1.79 and first 2 mini watermelons for $1.99

I know ! I was surprised to see the $10 off of $50 because we usually only get it at the beginning of the month in the Foodday. It looks like it is for the Safeway classic tee it up golf tournament
Also safeway’s store brand butter top bread is on sale for .88cents and if you have the $1.00 off coupon that was in the $5.oo off 5 Kraft recipe book that was in Safeway three weeks ago. Then you make .12 cents on each loaf of bread.
I was just given a $10/50 coupon from someone’s Daily Astorian (tuesdays). It the first time I’ve seen on it where it specifically says the discount is AFTER manf. coupons. Does the Oregonian one say the say the same thing???

I just reread my post. So glad you understood it! lol! Thanks. It did change my plans too. I went ahead and did the $10 gift card promo. We needed diapers and tp anyways. Plus the Herbal Essences coupon (B1G1) ended making us $1.30 since the computer deducted the regular price for the free one. So, I ended up spending about $15 more than planned.
My safeway had tons of Kraft Mayo (reg and lite) on the clearance shelf. The dates are marked for Sept and October. The 50%off made them 1.50 per jar. Plus, I used the $1/1 coupon from the grill booklet.
Didn’t read the “after mfg coupons” details about the $10/50 coupon until after my shopping trip … although, some checker’s don’t know the new policy.
there is a coupon in 8/25 SS for .35/3 Chef Boyardee. That makes them a little cheaper

The IP for Totinos days DND. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t?
all detergent in on sale (part of the deal where you must buy $10 worth) with in-ad coupon for $3.49. Double the $1 SS cpn and get them for $2, limit of 2. I combined this with buying 2 Skippy. My cousin in Indiana had sent me some Skippy coupons for 60-cents off/1, so got those 2 for 39-cents each.
Also, I think there is a cat on Progresso Soup – buy 8 cans and get $3 OYNO
So buy Progresso Soup – vegetable spring for $1 a can; use any MQ’s that you have, and get the $3 cat.
The Betty Crocker Brownies are 2/$4. I have 3 $75/2 e-coupons loaded for those plus a paper coupon w/ double. It would be 50 cents for 2 boxes of brownies.
Sargento Cheese is 1.99. There are two .55/1 cheese coupons on cellfire. There’s also a .50 coupon in 8/8 SS.
And the Old El Paso coupon is on my card twice so it actually makes each box 39 cents!
I had both Sargento coupons loaded, but only one came off.
The Old El Paso taco shell boxes (or maybe it is the dinner kits) have peelies on them for buy any two OEP products, get $1 off refried beans. The OEP refried beans are priced at $1 each. Sweet!
I’ve been reading that either Cellfire or Shortcuts may have figured out how to only deduct one eCoupon when you have multiples (of the same one) loaded. May or may not be true.
I was at my safeway last night and was totally shocked to find when I got home that many of my buy 1, Get one free coupons were NOT taken off. and the store coupons were not there either. I got the card savings but not the coupon savings. Anyone else have this happen? Will the store do anything after the fact? The cashier was so fast at ringing my groceries up that I wasn’t even done unloading and he was starting on my coupons. I saved a bundle but i knew it should have been more
What to do?
I check my receipt before I leave the store. Just last week the cashier charged me full price for clearance items. I noticed this and went directly to the customer service desk, and was promptly refunded.
I just found out that their is an shortcuts e-coupon for totinos pizza. That will make it $.29 each!
Nothing major but it kind of sucks when I go to my 8/8 SS Insert and find that the coupon you guys got for $1/2 Nabisco 100 calorie snack packs, we only got 75 cents off 2. *sigh* LOL…. However, if I did the math right, doing the Buy 4 to get a $2 catalina deal works, I should be able to get them for only 52 cents each because according to the Safeway flier online (after entering my zip code to find the right store), it shows doublers in the flier. (I’m in Jackson county Oregon)
Roberta: Just go to customer service next time you are in the store. They are pretty good about making things right. I have to go in today and get a store coupon taken off they missed last week.
