Some of these deals combine a Safeway double with an internet printable coupon. Your cashier or store may or may not double an IP.

Questions about how eCoupons work? Check out the eCoupon FAQ page.

Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page.

We are proud to be apart of The Grocery Gathering over at BeCentsAble, posting for Safeway in Oregon & SW Washington.

I just bought some Nilla wafers at Albertsons tonight and they had .55 off bananas peelies on them, so I got two pounds of bananas for free! I have seen these peelies for a long time, so keep an eye out for those. Would help with the banana pudding. :)

In addition to the $0.55 Produce/Nilla coupon, I have been to several stores that have a coupon tear pads or peelie for $1 off One Nilla Wafers.

Where have you found them?

It would be helpful to know which stores Dana / others found coupons in eg Albies, Safeway, Portland eastside, etc.
thank you.

Here’s my question about peelies/tearpads….do you think its okay to take coupons off products you aren’t buying right at that moment? Example, last week I went into Albie’s to use my doubles on Wheat Thins and Cheez-its. And it seemed like literally EVERY box on the cracker/cookie aisle had a coupon taped to it. Not a peelie, but taped, like an employee had gone thru and purposely put them there. And they were good coupons, most $1/1. I decided not to take any. However, my next stop was Safeway where I saw the Free Bananas when you buy Wafers coupon and I did take one of those, because you rarely get free produce. I didn’t feel right/wrong about either decision, but want to know how others feel.

I don’t feel bad taking a few to use on sales later if they’re for products I know I’ll buy before the coupon expires. I will never take more than a few though. I think those ladies Kimberly is referring to were habitual “strippers” taking every peelie they could get their hands on, probably to sell them on ebay.

I got my Rainier cherries at FM for $1.99/lb on Monday. And I don’t think one is supposed to take any peelies/coupons off of actual products unless purchasing said products…I just heard about two ladies being escorted from a store for doing that.

What zip was used for the avocado coupon? I couldn’t get it to come up with my Oregon zip…

I took some $1/1 Kelloggs peelies off boxes of Frosted Flakes today at Fred Meyer. After I took a few off, I noticed this fine print on the peelie, “Not valid unless removed by cashier.”

First time I’ve seen on that on a peelie.

I will usually take a few (2 – 4) peelies that I know I will use, but I make sure I leave plenty for other people. In fact, a week or so ago, I took two peelies off a display of Nilla wafers that were $1 off Nilla wafers with the purchase of a Jello pudding product. I used those yesterday at Safeway.

I found some $1/2 tearpad coupons for Cheetos at South Salem Fred Meyer a couple of weeks ago (all over the chip section), just in time for my son’s birthday. Cheetos are a must. Pair the MC with the store coupon+ a doubler, and the Cheetos are 74¢ each!

I also bought the Welches refrigerated juice for 74¢ each (store coupon + 75¢/1 MC from paper + doubler), which will be great for the party.

The Quaker Granola Bars ended up being 74¢ each (store coupon + $1/2 MC from the True Delights boxes + doubler).

AND, there were some tearpad coupons on a display with the Kool-Aid Fizzers for $1/1. The Fizzers are priced at 2/$3 until July 20th. Use the coupon and doubler, and a fun drink is free!!

* Peelies:
I wouldn’t feel right taking a peelie off of a product I wasn’t purchasing. The peelie is on the specific item so should be used to purchase THAT item. I guess if you really wanted to know you could ask the store manager. I am new to couponing but am bothered by some of the “tactics” used by others. I take the high road always. My integrity is more valuable than a “.50 cent” peelie or arguing with a cashier over them not taking a coupon… a WAGS cashier said I couldn’t use 3 /$1 off one pack of gum when they were 3 / .99 and I said OK… she said “you aren’t going to yell at me?” Seriously? people get mad for not being able to get “FREE” items when next to free is a great price too? I don’t get that at all. Then again, these are probably the shoppers going out and getting all the “freebies” before many of us get to the stores. The early bird DOES get the worm… and the great deals… hahaha
I guess we all decide on our own where our line in the sand is and it is up to us to be honest with our fellow man.
just my opinion

I have been thinking about this alot today and I guess I consider a “Peelie” as money. (just like a coupon is) If there were 2 quarters stuck to a box would you take those?

I don’t intend to pass judgement I am just sharing my opinion. Remember, I am a new naive couponer and may be totally wrong in the intention of a “peelie” I just think they are on that specific box and if you buy that box then you get a bonus.

anyone else care to explain peelie protocol?
thanks

Kari,
I totally agree with you. There is simply no reason to get mad over a few cents, I still can’t understand that and I’ve been couponing for a few months now, as far as the peelies, I personally don’t take them, unless I’m purchasing the product, I also see it as a bonus for the person that’s purchasing that product.
thanks,
Ruth

I take peelies off of things sometimes, but it’s usually if I plan on buying the item now and the particular variety I want DOESN’T have a a peelie on it. I also go out of my way to find all the itens with peelies on them even If the peelie is $1/2 I still find 2 with peelies and save the other one.

Oh and some of you are probably right about people taking a ton of them to sell… are these the Nilla wafer one you are talking about?

I just got back from Safeway (Battle Ground). I got two packages of the O organic cherry tomatoes, which are on sale for $1.99 (down from $3.59?) plus I could use a $1/1 coupon for any O product, available at pharmacy counter. That’s $.99 each…great deal for organic. I also used the same coupon on the gallon of O organic milk, on sale for $4.99, so final price of $3.99. And, the Jenny O ground turkey was on clearance for $1.99 package (from $5.79?) …about to expire, but 10 packages went straight into my freezer! I use this for a turkey gyro recipe which we have with tziki sauce, hummus, and tabbouleh. Yum!
