does this work on multiple quantities, like if I wanted 5 boxes? would the coupon work on all of them?
thanks!
just learning!
I’m 99.9% sure it’s good on only one box.
I logged into safeway.com but can’t find where their ecoupons are?
I think it is under u deals
How long are these on sale for? Just the weekend?
I believe through Tuesday regular sale cycle.
Are the Safewy “Just for U” coupons manufacturer or store coupons? Are they stackable?
-They are manufacture coupons and are NOT stackable. Boo
-The sale is just for the holiday weekend
-The coupon above states “one time” so you can only get one
-The eCoupons are under JustforU. We don’t have just4U in Portland but we do get eCoupons. If you are tempted to be mad about not having Just4U, remember that we DO have doubles and I would MUCH rather have doubles than Just 4U.
Thanks Brittany! I figured, but it was worth asking!
I’m in Newberg, is that not considered Portland??
Anyway, we have the Just for U. I loaded it and used it here.
Just tried it at Safeway, didn’t work for me. They were on sale for $1.99 and I loaded the coupon on my u card. They said I could not get them for free, I could get them for $2.00, but when they went off sale I could then use the coupon. I think the stores are changing their policies.
I just tried it too and it didn’t work. They told me the same thing they told you. However, I am wondering if it isn’t working because I didn’t wait long enough from the time I loaded the coupon to the time I tried to use it. Another blog I was reading said that you need to wait a while.
I just did it and it would not work for my BUT my cashier was super awesome (sherwood safeway) and she gave me a 1.99 coupon. So I did get them free just not the traditional way.
I wish I had gone to your cashier. I was at Sherwood half an hour ago and my cashier stated that they couldn’t adjust an electronic coupon. UGH! I did get some other good deals though.
They initially tried to tell me it wouldn’t work because it’s considered a store club savings, to which I insisted it was not. It’s a manufacturer coupon. Since it ends up being 1 penny over, they have to manually enter in a $1.99 manuf coupon. Be persistent.
Mine came up as a $.99 Tortino pizza discount at register (which is funny because I didn’t load the pizza e-q:-) So I took my receipt to customer service with the print out showing I had loaded it and they gave me back $1.
I just loaded the e-Coupon for Popsicle , is the sale on for Sat, Sun or Mon is also included in the weekend. Thanks!!
I just tried it and it didn’t work. She said because the coupon is for more than the $1.99 sale price it wouldnt work because it was a ecoupon they dont have a way to adjust it down.
I had the same problem, Shannon. Bummer!
Me too, I’m on the phone with Safeway now to confirm. Boo Safeway!! Either way, it’s a great deal on push-ups for my kids! They were super excited to finally get the Spongebob push-ups, when they’re usually like $3.99! BTW, JustForU really stinks sometimes, I’ve yet to receive my “FREE” eggs when they first started the program.
I’m laughing because I haven’t gotten my free eggs either. That’s funny.
*Update* I just hung up with the very nice lady Georgia from 1-877-SAFEWAY, and she was nice enough to credit my Safeway card for $2.00 because since you cannot get the item for *free* it should NOT use the e-coupon, but in my case (and probably many others) it did. So I was very nice, and wanted to know if she could “reload” the coupon back onto my account for when they are NOT on sale, but instead she gave me a credit to use for next time… which I will use to get yet another box of popsicles… thanks Safeway!
super awesome!
Thanks for the post – my cashier just entered it in as a $1.99 coupon :9!
I just came from safeway and it worked when my cashier put it in as $1.99. She said the penny was the problem.
MsDana are you serious e-Coupons have not been working for a long time so I wonder why they don’t fix it. But it is great that Safeway was helpful to you. Love their Staff always helpful and polite every time I go there and I go to two or three different Stores and it is same every where.
Are these Mfrs’ Coupon or the Store Coupons. If store Coupons then can we match it up with Mfr’s Coupon. I’m still new to this so just wondering. Thanks!!
Didn’t work for me either…. Irritating!
What a nightmare, I just got back from Safeway in Damascus and they had to have
a conference on this ecoupon. I ended up just returning the popciles. My cashier was insistant that we are not to get items for free. Is this a new policey? I know they can’t/won’t
give overage, but they put out the Q and set the price.
I do feel for the cashiers. One told me that when her store’s new policy came out (including 1 doubler/family/week) they made all the cashiers read pages of documents and sign every page. They probably get in trouble if they don’t go by the book.
I just bought a box of the sponge bob push ups and a box of the jolly rancher popsicles and the $2 off coupon came off.
After reading all these comments. I’m not even going to bother trying. Glad I didn’t make a trip just for the free popcicles. I don’t normally shop at Safeway as it’s not close enough to me.
Geez, sounds like this is way more trouble than the Popsicles are worth! I’ll pass, thanks for the input everyone!
How much are the spong bob push up’s that your talking about?
I don’t feel like going there anymore. They better remove the e-coupon and put it back when the price goes up so that we don’t get confused and get into all this embarrassing situation. Looks like a hassle to me.
Maybe that is how it would work better, they have a small box for $1.00 and a bigger box for $1.99. My cashier told me the penny was the problem. So if you buy (2) $1.00 that would solve the penny problem. I will try it tomorrow and let you know.
I called my safeway and they said that they can stack both the ecoupons and mq. I don’t know though. I might call back tomorrow before I head there in the morning and save myself a trip. What happened to just plain old fashion newspaper coupons?
I’d look up their coupon policy! You are not allowed to stack e-qs w/mfr-qs because they are both mfr-qs. You can stack mfr-qs w/Safeway in-store deals/coupons… so the “e-coupons” like the Kingsford for $5.99 you could stack a mfr-q w/THAT deal, but not the others…if that makes sense :/
I did this deal at Safeway this evening. The checker was very friendly and just adjusted the coupon down to $1.99.
@Lisa – that is exactly what I did and my $2.00 e-coupon came off my total. Bought 2 boxes of Popsicles – 1 box $1.99 of 24 count and the other $1.00 of 8 count. Total .98 for 32 popsicles and I FEND OFF THE ICE CREAM TRUCK FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS TO BOOT!!
You can download it to multiple registered club cards. My husband and I have two separate cards since we had our own before we got married and we never changed the information. So yay us :0)
I went to self-check and when I scanned my club card (after my items) the computer froze. They told me to try another station, and it happened again. A manager came over to try and figure it out and I shared my theory that the item being $1.99 and the coupon being $2.00 might have done it. He asked me to come over to a stand where he had to manually give me the item for free since the ecoupon had already “came off” at the self-check station.
I loaded the coupon to my mom’s card (who’s already skeptical about getting things for free with coupons) since she was already going there before she came to my house this morning. When it didn’t work for her I got a big fat “See I told you so!”…which was worse that paying $1.99 for popsicles!
If you had problems getting these for free, be sure to call the 1800 #. It took me calling twice to get someone who actually knew what they were talking about though! The first girl I talked to told me that the store was right in not honoring the coupon. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and she was alot more helpful. She said that the store was in the wrong. That they should have honored $1.99 off! She stated that they have gotten ALOT of calls today about this popsicle deal. So keep calling until you get someone who knows what they’re talking about and get those popsicles for FREE
I sent my husband to pick some of these up last night. He picked up ten (five boxes for my kids and five boxes for my cousins kids). They gave him the first one and then said he owed $17.00 and some change and told the cashier about the loadable coupon and the sale they had and it says no where there are any limits. So the cashier called over the manager and he said “no, he’s right. They’re all free.”
Sometimes random cashiers will try to argue with you about the “One time” thing on the loadable coupons, but I spoke with the store manager at my local Safeway and they said that it just means that coupon only has to be loaded one time. (You do not have to reload it everytime you want to buy that item.) The only time there is a limit is if it is clearly stated on that ecoupon.
Hope this helps!
It is not an unlimited amount. 1 ecoupon per person is what I’ve always understood.
Didn’t work for me, but for $2 it’s not worth calling or going back to the store. Guess I’ll have to make it up somewhere else. lol
Hi, I don’t know how to send you what I think is a good deal. I’m sure you already know but just in case….
There is a coupon at Fred Meyer for $4.00 off of coppertone sunscreen. They are hanging by the sunscreen. They are a manufactors coupon so it will work at any store even though it says Fred Meyer. Safeway is having a sale starting tomorrow for $5.99 for the sunscreen. Take the coupon from Fred Meyer and double it and it will only be $1.49. That is a great deal to me. There is a limit of 4 of them which is perfect because you can only double 4.
Would safeway actually take those coupons? I know it’s a manufacture’s coupon, but I thought the Fred Meyer ones are only redeemable at Fred Meyer??
My first trip trying with new coupon know-how, and was a learning experience for sure! The e-coupon for the popsicles didn’t work, but the e-coupon for the Gladware did along with the mfg coupon so at least that bit worked, then my attempt at doubling my coffee creamer mfg coupons (from the internet) got shot down- as the clerk said they don’t double internet coupons. (I didn’t see that in the policy- but I had 3 yr old in tow as well so I didn’t argue) So, the big takeaways for me- (1) don’t shop with the kiddo and (2) get the store manager to confirm their coupon policy.
This worked for me with no problem in Astoria, also scored on the free first aid kit deal (they were 1.49) and told the guy in line behind me about them – he asked if I saved any money with coupons.
Wow, I guess I feel lucky. I just got on here to post a thank you b/c I got this tonight. Was afraid it would be sold out, but there were plenty. The cashier had trouble, but asked someone else, who said to just input as a store coupon for $1.99 (I think he was a manager). I’m glad I didn’t read the comments 1st, b/c I probably wouldn’t have gone.
Just because it says “One-Time” does not mean that it can only be used one time. On all coupons on the Safeway website, it will state whether or not there are limits. All of the coupons on the website are actually listed as “One-Time”. Does that mean all the coupons can only be used for one item each? Absolutely not. If you read the coupons closely, you will see that coupons that have limits will say “Limit 4″, “Limit 2″, etc. However, the Popsicle one did not have a limit. The only time there is a limit is when it comes to coupon doubling, which is still allowed in certain cases.
