Safeway Frozen Foods Promotion Scenarios

by Angela on March 4, 2010

I will list all the ongoing Safeway Frozen Foods Promotion scenarios in this post. Check back before you go shopping each time for new ones. If you find different prices, please comment. If you come up with your own scenario, please email it to me. It’s best if you describe your scenario similarly to how I post them — like a list and not in a narrative paragraph. You don’t have to know where the coupons came from (I can find those) but links to internet printable coupons would be helpful!

For those of you who receive Fred Meyer email coupons and coupon booklets by mail, I just got a “Frozen Favorites” pamphlet in the mail, it contains high dollar manu. coupons on several frozen food items. They all say “Fred Meyer” in red across the bottom, but that can easily be cut off without notice and should be redeemable at other stores. The ones that caught my eye were $1/2 El Monterey Burritos, $1.25/1 Bertolli, both of which match with Safeway sales for this week.

Do they state “manufacturer’s coupon” on the top by the expiration date?

Isn’t that a little unethical to cut off the store name so you can redeem it at another store? That’s not following the “good coupon ethics rule” – Remember, we want people to think of us as great shoppers (not sneaky cheaters) Am I the only one who feels this way?

Angela – Yes, they state manufacturer coupons on them, and I just redeemed the 2 I mentioned at Safeway with no problems/beeps at all.

Linda – No, I don’t think it is “unethical”, a manufacturer coupon can be redeemed by any store for the value of the coupon. It’s no different than printing manufacturer coupons off the Target website and using them at different stores. Even if you didn’t cut the “FM” off the bottom, you could still use it somewhere else. I don’t consider myself to be a “sneaky cheater” and I would never ask a cashier to do something that I, as a cashier (which I am), would not be comfortable doing or could have to answer to somebody for.

Angela, it might be helpful if you put in your post the catalina you get back can only be redeemed for frozen foods. It might be a deal breaker for some, as it was for me.

Two things to note on this one:

1. You can use the cat to roll to another frozen foods promo.

2. Both Sunday and Wednesday ads do not state “$10 off on your next shopping trip of frozen foods” but simply “$10 off on your next shopping trip,” which means anything you want to buy. Bring your ad into the store. They are pulling a bait-and-switch since you don’t know about the “frozen foods” part until you actually do the transaction. This is definitely one to take up with a manager if your cashier refuses to accept it on your transaction.

And the catalina will scan on any purchase.

I was having some problems with getting the $4/10 coupon to come up any browser besides Chrome, and I have never been able to use chrome to print coupons before, but Lo and Behold it worked and I got the $4 coupons!!!!!

Safeway is having a 10 off 50 dollar purchase, found coupon in the Keizer time and also polk county times. I was shopping in Keizer Safeway, catalina machine does not work, but when I purchased my pillsbury deal with coupons they honored the transaction at customer service

Woops, sorry if I sent that over wrong. On the pizza and taquitos, it’s 4 Safeway doubles for $2 off. Makes them $1.80 each.

Thanks Angela!

I was about to get all excited wondering if Safeway started accepting Albertson’s double coupons! Thanks for the clarification.

Where is the $2/4 heart healthy coupon? I picked up a bunch of these booklets, but none have this coupon. Is it specifically for Smart Ones???
