I have a $3 off Hallmark Signature Collection Greeting Card in my personalized deals J4U. I wonder how that would combine with this? I just got back from Safeway, but I’ll have to try this out over the weekend. Also, this coupon is 2/3 page; quite interesting.

The $3 off coupon did not come off for me. Did I do something wrong? Are the signature collection cards different somehow? I sent my poor husband to the store for me so I didn’t actually see the card selection.

Not sure what Signature Collection is, but the coupon reads Hallmark, Expressions from Hallmark and Connections from Hallmark.

Mine didn’t come off either. I showed my printout to the cashier and she manually deducted it. I would take the savings list printout to customer service with the recipt and card. I’ve never had trouble getting Safeway to credit a coupon after the fact :)

Thank you Shana! Got my 3 cards = .97 money maker. Has anyone tried doubling this coupon? A greedy thought – but was just wondering…

Laura, I used this coupon in Corvallis today, along with the Classico coupon and they doubled both without any question.

Thank you Kelsey! I might try it tomorrow..I just have a feeling my store won’t like it…

I received a coupon at WinCo last week for $2/2.

The coupon says the cards have to be at least $2.

From how I read the coupon, it looks like the total amount has to be at least $2 (“totaling two dollars or more), not $2 for each card.

It scanned just fine for me with $1.99 cards this morning. I’m wondering if it would work with .99 cards. I’m thinking the total for all 3 cards might have to be $2.00. I had a doubler for other coupons and they didn’t double this one. I didn’t question it though.

The catalina excludes the $0.99 cards. Hard to read in the picture up there, but it’s the bold sentence in the fine print. :)

Most Safeways don’t double internet cpns. It’s in their policy and is printed right on the Doubl’r, but many stores and cashiers ignore it. (There’s a line in their policy that implies they DO double them, but it’s worded vaguely.)

Do you use the Catalina coupon with the 3 card purchase, or do you have to wait until you next purchase?

Your next purchase.

I was just at Safeway. Coupon worked great! I even was able to double it. At first the manager walked up and said oh that’s not a valid coupon, but when I didn’t say anything she told the cashier to try to run it and it worked fine. The manager then implied that she had someone come in earlier with the same coupon and it wouldn’t scan. I personally think that the manager was probably scanning the barcode that says its for Hallmark stores only. So, make sure they scan the right one. Especially if they try to tell you it’s not valid.

I used the double coupon as well, which worked fine, and nobody had any problems, yay! 3 cards for $1.99 = $5.97, but with $2.50 in coupons, only paid $3.47, plus $5 catalina = $1.53 money maker! WOOT! Gonna use it on some organic veggies <3

I did this today! I had the $3 off Signature Card. So I chose a $4.95 one for that ecoupon, plus two $1.99 cards. My ecoupon didn’t come off, but I showed my printout to my cashier and she manually took it off. I used the $2 off IP (which scanned fine once she did the right barcode). I paid $3.93 and got a $5 CAT. Woo-hoo :)

What is the $5 Catalina coupon for, $5 off your next purchase of anything at Safeway?

Miss Steph January 27, 2013 at 11:56 am

Yep…I haven’t done this deal yet, though, so I haven’t seen the catalina. There might be a few exceptions (i.e., the usual… alcohol, stamps, lottery tickets, etc.)

Whoops…looks like a copy of the catalina is in the heading. I didn’t see any exclusions. Yay!

Our Safeways don’t double IPs :(

This Catalina promotion happened last year for valentines. I don’t remember if I can use the $5 cat on my next 3 card purchases and roll along. Did rolling the cat work for anyone?

While I was checking out, the cashier over from mine actually yelled over to my cashier to tell her they don’t take the hallmark coupon because it doesn’t have two bar codes. I avoid her because she always makes me feel like I’m trying to scam the store with my couponing, even though I always try to stick to the rules.

I bought 3 of the $1.99 cards and used the $2/3 coupon, but the catalina didn’t print. I had my 22 month old daughter with me so I didn’t have time to stand there and try to figure out what happened. Any advice on what I should do from here? If I take my receipt to CS, would they be willing to at least give me a gift card? Or should I try to return them and they buy them again?

I would go to customer service and explain, or better yet go to support.catalinamarketing.com and request the cat. You will need your receipt info to make the request. They are real good and fast about taking care of these issues.

Tried this today. First I noticed I had a $1 one-time J4U cpn on Hallmark Expressions. Did not see any $1.99 cards. I bought two $2.59 cards, one $2.99 card. One of the three didn’t say Expressions on the back, but I got $3 credit anyway. Used the $2 FB cpn and the cashier doubled it, reducing the out of pocket to $2.67, and the $5 cat came out, making it a moneymaker of $2.33 for me. Thanks Britt and Shana for this awesome deal!
