I bought two packs of the Keebler clubs (Saturday 10/22) but they were out of regular and I had to take reduced fat version. No CAT. May return the crackers??? Is that allowable if it should have had a CAT but didn’t? Also my checker, while doubling my 4 coupons just fine, threw away in her trash the CAT that did print (the Starbucks). I stood there in shock and said I needed that and wasn’t there one that printed for the crackers (free soup). She said no, but handed me some other CATs that were also in her trash. I’ve never seen them throw the CATs away, except for some of the Discover card ads that keep coming that are totally worthless.

The catalina IS working for the Granola thins (yum!), but as stated previously, they are $2.99 and NOT included in the$1.77 deal.

jodi October 21, 2011 at 2:42 pm

Does anyone know if the trail mix bars on part of the deal?

Stacy October 21, 2011 at 4:01 pm

The trail mix bars are. I just got 2

I bought 4 NV granola thins and got a $2 cat back but they were at the $2.99 price because they are not included in the coupon. There is also a cat on the Keebler Club Crackers, Buy 2, get a free soup up to $1.75, any soup, any size

Lindsay Button October 20, 2011 at 8:40 am

Just an FYI, bought 4 boxes of NV granola bars Wednesday and no cat.

sally October 19, 2011 at 9:59 pm

I don’t know prices, as mine was a gift, but go to Hip2save’s site and she posted a deal for 2 kitchen aid mixers today. There are lots of comments in the comment section about prices and where good prices are etc.

I planned to pick up some of these tomorrow on my couponing day…but now i’m a little scared. I hate to be that person who’s coupons don’t get doubled. I looked online at the safeway coupon policy and they said that doubling rules can be decided by each individual store. They weren’t very clear, I will find out tomorrow i guess.

Tera October 19, 2011 at 8:46 pm

I’ve never had any problems with any of the checkers at my store. I even used 4 like coupons with the doubl’r today and the manager was my cashier.

sally October 19, 2011 at 9:52 pm

Hi Tera-
What store do you shop at?

Tera October 19, 2011 at 10:11 pm

Sweet Home, OR

Kathy October 19, 2011 at 8:27 pm

I went into the Canby, OR Safeway today with three coupons – two computer printed and one manufacturer coupon. I had no trouble using my doubler on all three coupons. Wonder if it has to do with what checker you end up with?

Reply October 20, 2011 at 10:52 am

Yes! It does. Little hint….there’s a new cashier, he’s kind of a younger guy. He doubles all 4 of them regardless of IP or manufacturer. As does the lady with the really long black hair that usually works the produce dept, but subs as a cashier.

sally October 19, 2011 at 5:40 pm

For the first time today, I went to Safeway and had 4 like coupons, (they were from SS, not printed from the internet), and they would only double 1 for me. (per the wording on the doubler coupon.)

kelly October 19, 2011 at 4:58 pm

The “doubler” coupon does say on it that they will not double coupons printed from the internet. However, the 4 like coupons wording on the doubler coupon has confusing wording…the checkers are confused about it. You should be able to do 4 of the same coupons. My Safeway always takes 4 of my coupons. Did you ask for a manager? Why don’t you post a question on the Safeway Facebook page. You should get a response there.

gloria October 19, 2011 at 4:52 pm

I posted a comment about a week ago that I got turned down on an IP (internet printed) coupon and was shocked. First I’d heard of it. The mgr also commented about the doublr change, so that agrees with the above comment and what others have said. Does this mean that our mfg coupons from the SS and RP are now more valuable, at least at Safeway?? Seems to me yes. Are they retaliating against couponers now by limiting us to one like coupon? I agree this seems to go against standard policy, but maybe the store can do what it wants. Do they want to keep us as customers?

Char October 19, 2011 at 4:14 pm

My local Canby OR Safeway store is getting even weirder with there coupon policy. They no longer will double on any internet printed coupons. And they informed me that you can only use one like coupon at a time. Even if you buy more than one product; you can only use one like manufactured coupon. They said this was the new coupon policy nationally. But I don’t buy it! Anyone else run into this policy at their local Safeway store? I’m going to put an effort to contact someone with corporate about it, but that’s very hard to find someone to talk to about policies when calling corporate. Usually they ask you to make a complaint with customer service, and say someone will call you back, but the never do. If anyone knows a better way to clarify the coupon policies with Safeway, would you please post it? Maybe I’ll post some comments on the Safeway’s facebook, and see if I get some answers.

Shannon October 19, 2011 at 4:31 pm

The not doubling internet coupons was put in place with their ‘doublr’ change….but the only one like coupon is not standard policy.

sally October 19, 2011 at 5:41 pm

Their facebook page seems to get a pretty quick response.

Hi! I’ve been shopping this store for a LONG time. The policy changes depending on who you talk to. Make sure you’ve got one printed when you go in! There are also certain cashiers that will do it and others that are flat out rude and will not. I’m pretty sure there have been some changes in management. I spoke with the new manager and informed her that I used to shop Safeway constantly, but, due to their being difficult about my coupons I haven’t shopped there in over 6 months. She said “bring your coupons here, don’t take them somewhere else, bring them here we love your coupons!” so, it shouldn’t be that hard any more. But, considering doubling the IP, some cashiers will do it but they changed the fine print on the double a long time ago (over a year ago) to say that IP was not included. Make sure you know your stuff, argue your point (nicely) only if you know they aren’t doing it right, and call corporate. Seriously, call corporate from the parking lot! I’ve done this before they read through everything and if i was in the right they called the store and then sent me back in. Totally easy after that ;) . I NEVER shop that store late at night! And realize when you’ve lost, lol, sometimes they just won’t double IP it’s their choice. You could email the manager, and corporate and make a case for doubling the IP, making sure you point out that other stores will, so you will shop there. If you do it all very nicely and professionally, they will listen to you. Good luck!

Reply October 20, 2011 at 10:46 am

Oh, and when you call corporate, tell them you need help with your local Safeway not being compliant with the coupon policy (if that is in fact what happened). When I call they literally read the coupon policy WITH me to make sure I have what they have, and that I am interpreting it correctly.

Rebecca October 19, 2011 at 4:10 pm

I bought 4 boxes of granola bars thinking it was a good deal, and to my surprise, I got a $2 off cat! :) So, yes, it works!

(I wrote about it as a commnet to your post about safeway double deals.)

Rebecca October 19, 2011 at 4:11 pm

Oh! But I didn’t do the Granola Thins.

charolyn October 19, 2011 at 10:13 pm

I too just tried it & got it today-I had google searched for the catalina info before I went & there wasn’t anything about it at Safeway-although I knew Albertson’s had it-so was quite exciting to actually get it!

steph October 20, 2011 at 8:40 am

steph October 20, 2011 at 8:41 am
