Walgreens: FREE Packing Tape (Starts Sunday 12/2)

by Brittany from Frugal Living NW on November 29, 2012

The upcoming Walgreens ad features “Wexford” tape for $.99, but the said tape also has a Duck brand logo on it. It should be fair game for the Duck brand tape coupon making it free!

Wexford Packing Tape on sale $.99 with weekly ad coupon (starts 12/2)
Use $1/1 Duck coupon from 11/11 SS insert
FREE after coupon

I was able to get the free tape as well on Sunday with the coupons. It didn’t want to scan at first, but the cashier found a way to make it work.

I just tried to get three tapes this am and I was told by the cashier that the coupon is not for that brand. He said the tape is Wexford which is Walgreens brand. He said couponers were in this am and that’s how he found out. Does this sound right?

My walgreens in the Bethany area was a no go on the tape as well.

My coupons didn’t scan, but I thought it was because they were for $1 and the tape was 99 cents. Whatever it was, my wonderful cashier pal Sandy (Tigard, Hwy 99 store) made it work. (The store cpn worked properly, reducing it from $3.49 to $.99.) Furthermore, my tape did NOT say Wexford on it, only Duck. It printed on the receipt as Wexford by Duck.

The coupon didn’t work for me either but as you said my cashier thought it may be because the coupon was for $1 off and the tape was $0.99. My cashier manually pushed it through though and she let me get 1 extra.

I’m glad there’s a store cpn limiting purchase to 3, which MIGHT deter the hoarders from emptying the shelves by 7 am.
