Tomorrow only (9/3), Whole Foods is having a huge sale on grass-fed ground beef — $3.99/lb. Read more about the details here.
I’m not exactly an expert on different types of beef, so I’d love to know how this beef compares to New Seasons’s ground beef. I need an expert to tell me if it’s worth the drive!

Yes, experts please… just watched Food Inc. and am ready to learn more about all this. Is this a “stock-up” price for grass-fed beef? Newbie here!
This is a good price for us. We can get grass fed ground beef at the farmer’s market for $4.99/lb-$5.99/lb.
This is an awesome deal. The beef is top quality. I purchased at both places and both are premium meats!
It is a great price. My family raises grass fed beef and you can’t beat this price if you ask me. The benefits to grass feed beef are numerous and the taste is remarkably good and different (if you get the good stuff). That’s my opinion anyways…
Grass fed beef is amazing. This is a great price. New Seasons regular beef is not soley grass fed. They pasture raise as much as possible but supplement and finish on grains. It is better than regular grocery store beef, but grass fed is so much better.
I despise Whole Foods, their employees have been nothing but stuck up snobs, anytime I have gone there. When I called to ask about this sale, the meat market said grouchily “I can’t take pre-orders!” I said, I’m not asking for a pre-order, I’d like to call tomorrow and have you package some for me so I can just come and get it. She said “NO. you have to come in person and wait for it to be packaged like everyone else”. I’m so not kidding. Customer service training anyone?
I asked New Seasons if they would price match WF’s price for their beef and here is their response about the type of beef they carry if anyone would prefer to give their money to New Seasons instead of WF: (Her end response to this was they get their shipments from this company in on Wednesday mornings)

Kelly,
Thank you for writing. We don’t offer price matching; that said, our Pacific Village 100% grass-fed ground beef (10% fat) is regularly priced at $3.99 per pound. This beef comes to us from ranchers right here in Oregon who we’ve built strong relationships with. You can read more about our Pacific Village beef on our website here. Because these are smaller ranching operations, we don’t get very large orders in and when we do, it goes fast! If you’ll let me know which store is most convenient for you, I’d be happy to let you know when they receive their beef from the farmers so you’ll be sure to get the amount you need.
Thanks again for taking the time to ask us this question, and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Take care,
Chenoa

I know this is a long shot, but tomorrow at Whole Foods they have their grass fed ground beef for $3.99 a pound. I want to stock up on some, but I’d much rather give my money to New Seasons. You don’t by chance, price match on an advertised sale from a competitor do you?
Regards from a Loyal New Seasons customer,
Kelly
I was so excited when I showed up at Whole Foods and found out this was Organic! I stocked up!
