I finally did it. I’ve been reading about it for months from the girls over at Saving 4 My Family and other places. I was just too lazy. Too lazy to save money…how pathetic.
Tonight I set out to Safeway with my mother-in-law’s Safeway Club Card loaded with the $3 & $1.50 off Huggies eCoupons from Cellfire and Shortcuts to do the Huggies Overnites deal (my card isn’t registered, so I had to use her number).
It worked! I purchased two packages of Huggies Overnites and the register deducted $4.50! Hot dig! Here’s the specifics of my transaction:
Bought 2 packages of Huggies Overnites = $19.98
Used $2/1 Huggies Overnites paper coupon
Used $3/1 Huggies Diapers paper coupon (from a recent home mailer)
Used $3 Cellfire eCoupon
Used $1.50 Shortcuts eCoupon
Used 2 Safeway doubles (-$1)
Received Safeway instant savings — Buy 2, Get $2 Instantly
Paid $3.74 each after coupons, instant savings & doubles
The Huggies Newborn jumbo packs are also apart of the Buy 2, Get $2 Instantly promotion (other jumbo packs may also be included — my store only had the newborn size). This is a good time to buy a few packs if you are expecting a baby soon. I would have picked up newborns, but my babies tend to move into size 1 diapers quickly and I already have a bunch in my stockpile.
EDIT: I found the answer to my $3 off coupon question — it is for two packages, so I have removed the previously listed scenario.
Here’s my question for seasoned eCouponers: when looking at Cellfire, how do you know how many items you have to purchase? It doesn’t state the Huggies eCoupon is $3 off 2 packages. Did I just assume incorrectly and give out erroneous information?
