I was red hot and ready to roll with the Safeway deals yesterday morning. I dropped off my daughter at a birthday party and came home to start some serious postin’.
As I sat down with the ad, I couldn’t figure out why my limbs felt like a ton of bricks. Then I couldn’t figure out why I was so tired. Then I started getting cold, even though it was getting hot outside.
Then it dawned on me that maybe I was sick.
I called my husband and let him know that he would not be working much and set up a bed in the middle of the living room. Needless to say, the room was trashed after about 45 minutes of two preschoolers and a baby running around like maniacs while their mother dozed.
I’m feeling much better today and the most wonderful thing happened this morning as I was picking up the disaster that once was my living room. My husband said to me, “I realized yesterday that you actually do pick-up the house during the day.” Of course, I’ve told him many times that these four little people can destroy a room in a matter of seconds. But now he has actually experienced it. Seriously, it was the sweetest thing he could have said to me today.
Isn’t it funny what moms consider compliments?
