The Home Depot Black Friday ad deals (6″ poinsettias for $.99, Husky Tape Measures for $2.50, Tent Combo Pack for $ 49)

by Angela Davis on November 17, 2012

Here are the best deals from the Black Friday Home Depot ad for 2012. Black Friday at The Home Depot is awesome because there are very few people in line and you can waltz in 10 minutes after the doors open and find pretty much everything you’re looking for. They carry a surprisingly large number of their doorbusters.

Commentary is provided by my husband Will, a general contractor and one of the world’s most frugal men. Perfect combo for scouring the Home Depot ads. He comes from the perspective that he’d rather pay a bit more for a tool/accessory that will last three times as long. Also note that many, many items promoted in the ad are regularly priced — nice marketing ploy. The Will-Man is only listing what he believes to be the very best deals.

You are welcome to ask Will any questions about the Home Depot ad in the comments. He will be happy to offer his manly-deal-finding expertise!

Milwaukie Ice Hardened Bi-Metal Hole Saw Kit (13 piece) on sale $39.88 (regularly $79.97) — I have frequently spent almost as much on a single hole saw. This is a whole kit with a case, and the quality is excellent compared to Ryobi or Black and Decker (cheaper brands that suck).

Milwaukie 9 in. 5/8 TPI Sawzall The Ad Reciprocating Saw Blades (5 pk) on sale $9.88 (regularly $20.97) — Again, very high quality at about the same price as you would spend on the low-end blades that break and go dull immediately.

Husky Tape Measures (4 pk) on sale $9.88These have lifetime warranty on an item that kids always break and lose  (regularly $36+).

Wiss Straight Metal Snips (2 pk) on sale $13.88This is the top-of-the-line brand so it will last at about 1/2 price (regularly $26+).

20″ Gorilla aluminum work platform on sale $17 (regularly $40)

6 inch Poinsettias on sale $.99 (regularly $4.98) — limit 12

7.5 foot Pre-Lit Martha Stewart Artificial Tree on sale $59 (regularly $179)

Flat Screen TV Wall Mount (26″ – 57″ screens) on sale $18.97

Ear Bud Headphones with Carry Cases (2 pk) on sale $8.88

Glacier Bay Kitchen Faucets on sale $24.88This is a special item not usually available and way less than 50% off normally stocked similar faucets. I am picking up several for upcoming jobs.

Glacier Bay Bathroom Faucets on sale $19.88 — Same as above.

Aluminum LED Flashlights (8 pk) on sale $11.88This is what we use for Welcome Boxes for children entering foster care!

5-piece Tent Combo Pack (1 tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 sleeping mats) on sale $49

Bamboo Cutting Boards (3 pk) on sale $8

Steam Iron on sale $8

Lighter Duty Green Extension Cords (3 pk) on sale $5.88

Microwave (.7 cu ft) on sale $38

Rayovac AA & AAA Batteries (48 pk) on sale $7.88This is a great price, but don’t buy them this weekend. They always stock too many and they will clearance them out at a cheaper price in a few weeks!

What did you think of the quality of the 5 piece camping tent value pack set?

Love the deals they rock at Home Depot every year. I spend an insane amount of money there during the holidays!

I work in construction related field so spend a lot of time here too. I went last year to get the 99 cent ponsettias but was too late. However, they had an amazing deal on larger ponsettias still later in the day. Home Depot generally has the lowest prices on plants of anyone.

I greatly appreciate this list & your husband’s input because I have no idea what a “stock up price” is for items at Home Depot… :)
