Starting this week I, Rebecca, plan on sharing with you all exactly what I am able to purchase with my $40 food budget. Along with my menu plan, which I hopefully will also be posting weekly, you can get an idea of what my family eats with the food I buy. Hopefully this will counter any thoughts that the only food one is able to purchase with coupons is junk food.
Fred Meyer: $2.94
Safeway – $8.28 plus an extra $2 catalina I have yet to spend
I think I am set for spaghetti sauce for a while, what about you all? How many bottles did you score?
16 jars Ragu $7.84
4 jars Ken’s salad dressing – free
3 boxes Pediasure Nutripals – free with $1.50 overage
2 boxes Ritz crackers – 2.48
1 cream cheese – $1.49
earned 2 $2 catalina’s
plus a $.3 bag credit
Albertsons – $1.34
16 cans DelMonte Diced Tomatoes – used 16 $.40/1 coupons and 4 Safeway double coupons. (I went multiple times)
A Few Things Not Pictured: $25.55
We had people over and what I had made to eat turned out to not be enough so I sent my husband to the store and that ended up using quite a bit of my food money, but it all worked out.
apple juice – .99, Au Jus – 1.59, Breyer’s Ice Cream – 2.49, swiss & provolone cheese – 6.02, roast beef – 4.31, 2 progresso soups – .30, 3 cans olives -2.67, 2 cans tomato sauce – 1.18, 2 dozen eggs from a local farm – $6, 5 numbers for my mailbox – 2.95
So my total came to $41.06
And I am done shopping until Saturday night when I will replenish my food envelope. I have already begun to make my lists as there are some great deals at Safeway and Albertson’s this week and into the next.
