Are You Taking Advantage Of Walgreen’s Huggies Deal?

by Angela on February 11, 2010

Because you really should be.  At least if you have a child in diapers or pull-ups, you should be!  This is one of those rare, sweet diaper   (um, I don’t think “sweet” and “diaper” should really be together, but we’ll just go with it now) deals that doesn’t come around very often.   The register reward deal in itself isn’t that impressive, but combined with the Dove RR deal, now we’re talking.  Do this today, Friday, and use the Friends and Family 15% off coupon to make it even better!! (Thanks Cindy for the late night reminder:)

If you already have it figured out, great job! If not: follow me….

Just so you know, I went to four different Walgreens to do all these deals.  Most of the WAGS near me stick to the limit of 1 RR per day.  It isn’t a lot of gas for me as I live within 3 miles of about 7 Walgreens and so I just make a circle and hit four pretty quickly.  The pluses and minuses of living in the city.

Transaction #1

Huggies Pull-Ups $8.99 (or diapers, but we are stocked up on those)
Valentines Pencil $.20 with in ad coupon page 11, bottom right (you don’t have to buy all 5)
-$2/1 Pull Ups from Home Mailer
-$1/1 Huggies from WAGS Children Activity Book (it beeps every time, but the cashiers all did a price adjustment and pushed it through, also, make sure to ask for it back, they don’t need it as it isn’t a manufacturer’s coupon)
-$6 Register Reward (from Dove deal earlier this week, that one was too complicated to explain)                       Total OOP: $.19 and received a $3 RR

Transaction #2

Dove Body Wash $5.99
Valentines Pencil $.20 after in ad coupon
-$1.50 IP (see original post for links)
-$3 RR from Huggies deal
Total OOP: $1.69 and received a $6 RR

Bringing the total for a pack of diapers or pull-ups, a bottle of body wash and 2 pencils to $1.88!!! And, you have $6 in Register Rewards to do it all over again!

Do these two transactions at one store and then head to another one and do it again.  I did this 4 times in one evening and 2 earlier this week and only stopped because I ran out of Dove coupons.

Seriously, $1.88?!  What are you waiting for?  As of Wednesday night the stores were all still completely stocked, which is crazy to me as this is a spectacular sale!!!!

Hopefully you have enough coupons to do this again tomorrow with the 15% off Friends & Family coupon!

I went on Tuesday and they (vancouver on millplain) were totally wiped out of the Mens Dove. The gal at the perfume counter said all the Dove went super early on Sunday. I am hoping that they have been restocked and I am gonna go to 3 to make the most of my coupons. Ya Whooo!

every time I try to use the Walgreens pull ups coupon from the coloring book, it beeps and they won’t push it through since the coupon says “$1 off regular retail” Any tips on getting it to go through?
Thanks.

I just discovered yesterday, after 15 months of couponing, that the coupons from the coloring book, even though they are Walgreens coupons, they still need an item to attach to. When I tried the Huggies deal this week, I used just a Huggies MQ and the coloring book coupon. It beeped. The casher voided the Huggies coupon and scanned the coloring book coupon and it worked fine, but then the Huggies coupon beeped. So I added a gift bag to my purchase and both coupons went through. Weird, but I’ve learned my lesson now.

to get your walgreens coupon to go thru you should be able to if you use it after the mc. best to use in this order, register reward, mc, walgreens coupon. hope this helps!

The Walgreens coupon didn’t work for me either. Which I am upset about because I paid 4x’s what it costs off of Ebay (just to get it for the Huggies deal) and I never got to use them. Oh well. And, something else that is funny, I sent my husband out the night before last to do a Huggies deal again and gave him the Wags book of coupons (just in case….) well, it didn’t work for him either AND he told the cashier she could keep the book. He didn’t realize I paid for those coupons! errr!! :) I am certainly grateful for all the deals I do get so Im not complaining. Even without the 1.00 off coupon the Huggies deal is AMAZING (especially today)

I just tried to use the 15% at the 21st & burnside location Wags. I was using it with my Garnier deal (3/$10 with $10 RR after $20 in Garnier products) I handed her all my mf coups, a $10 RR (from Vicks), and the 15% coupon. She said “I wish you would have given the 15% off first because I have to ring it up a certain way” Apparently, at this store, when you use the 15% off, they are ringing it up as an employee discount. After she re-rang everything up, it only came out to $18 something so I didnt get the $10RR!!! The manager tried to tell me that it was because I was trying to use a RR for the same amount I would have RR I was supposed to earn. He was awfully rude, but I didn’t lose my cool, hehe. (I knew this wasn’t true, so…Of course, I returned everything :) So, I missed out on $3.00 but I still got 6 of my husbands hairgels for about $4 total. I am still happy!

I envy those of you whose Walgreen’s are stocked. Do any Walgreen’s stock Overnites? Ours (only one in the 100,000 population Corvallis/Albany area) doesn’t and the popular diaper sizes are usually out of stock.

I had to go to 3 Walgreens to find one that had the Dove Men + Care and Diapers in my son’s size. But, I was really happy when I found them!

I am just wondering how you got your total so low for each transaction? Do you not have tax? I am in UT and have shopped Walgreens for a long time and have never had it that low because of the tax. Just curious, great site!
