We took full advantage of yesterday’s rare spring sunshine and hit “The Monkey Bar Park,” which is what my kids call the park behind Albertsons in Happy Valley, Oregon. I’m excited for the new library to open up, giving us another reason to enjoy one of our favorite hidden places in the Portland Metro area.
I took this picture with my “one-step-up-from-a-flip-but-definitely-not-a-smart-phone” phone and then doctored it with PicMonkey.com. I had NO idea what I was doing, but I was aiming for an Instagr.am-look. Not bad for a first attempt (and WAY cheaper than buying an iPhone)!
Here’s a short list of posts that I have enjoyed around the internet during the past week. So, feel free to put off that nagging weekend chore for just a bit longer and enjoy!
- World Water Day and Drink more water | KariPatterson.com
- A tool to pare down your Facebook stream | Blogging with Amy
- 7 reasons I hate artificial food dyes | 100 Days of Read Food
- Compose engaging pictures with the rule of thirds | Technology Your Way
- How to build raised garden beds | Simple Bites
Enjoy!

I will tell my husband your kids enjoy the park. He is one of the guys who built it! Nice to know of satisfied customers!
Cool, cool beans! Love the links. Thanks!
Beth
P.S. Couldn’t get the Blogging with Amy link to work. Thoughts?
I just fixed the link. Thanks!
The link still isn’t working, but I found it by Googling the name of the post. Even then, I had to go to the home page and not the post page. I think it’s a Google thing, not your fault.
Thanks for the awesome links to other blogs, I have found some new favourites in the last few weeks.
Is it funny that I noticed how good the camera is on your phone and it’s not even a smart phone (while the post is NOTHING about that lol)? That must be a REALLY good phone, because the camera on my smart phone is the best one out there and sometimes doesn’t look as good as that! lol. I guess that’s what happens when I work for a cell phone company…
Thank you, Angela!!!
