Oregonian Delivery Deal for Hermiston, Oregon Area Readers

by Angela on January 29, 2010

UPDATE: Here’s some more info on this deal. Regular delivery rates in this area are between $2.75 and $3.37 per paper. It’s this high because the overhead for delivery to rural areas is significantly more than in a metro area. If residents in this area purchase the 26 week deal, they are getting each paper for just $2.25. I think even paying the store price for having a paper delivered to your home is great — especially considering how far many rural residents have to drive just to get to a store.

Exciting news! We have an Oregonian deal for those of you in the Boardman, Irrigon, Umatilla, Echo, Stanfield and Hermiston, Oregon areas from Jeanette Meyers, your local Oregonian dealer.

Get 2 Sunday Oregonians delivered to your door — $40 for 8 weeks or $117 for 26 weeks; add an additional paper for just $2 a week

Note that stores in this area sell the Sunday Oregonian for $2.50 making this a pretty good deal. In addition, Jeanette will sell any extra papers she has for just $2 each.

Contact Jeanette (not the Oregonian) at 541-922-8456 or jmeyers850 @ msn.com to take advantage of this deal.

Thanks for coming up with this offer, Jeanette! Again, I’m thrilled to publish deals other dealers have for couponers!

So I've done the math and I'm wondering if there is perhaps a typo?

$40 for 8 weeks, 2 papers a week. Doesn't that equal $2.50 a paper, the price the Oregonian already sells for in that area? And on the year, wouldn't you only save 13 dollars, or 25 cents a paper? Doesn't sound like much of a deal to me.

(I'm totally not trying to be a party pooper… just doing the math.)

You're right not a better deal than buying at the store.

I'm over in Washington county and while this deal doesn't apply to me I don't think I would do it either. I would have to save money in order to commit myself to buying a ton of papers every week.

Often I buy my extra papers using my Walgreen RR or Catalinas to use them up before they expire.

Honestly, I hate that I waste so many papers every week just for the coupons but, thats just the way it is for now I guess.
