This one is interesting. And completely unconfirmed. I just received this email from my mom up in the Tacoma area:
Ok, so I canceled the Tacoma News tribune because they were going to charge me the regular rate – I can get the ones I want at the dollar store; after I talked w/them, they asked if I would want the coupons and sales ads for free, delivered every Sunday at the house…. interesting! I will let you know what I get – is a way of saving on the subscription.
If you’re in the Tacoma area, it’s certainly worth calling to see if you can score some free coupons. And, just to answer the inevitable question, Dollar Trees in the Puget Sound area often sell the Sunday paper for $1 after Sunday morning. I know of no similar deal in the Portland Metro area. And there is no way to get the Oregonian for less than $2 per paper. I know, totally stinks.
