Yes, I just used the word awesome. And as a child of the ’80s, I do not use that word lightly. In fact, the U.S. Bank deal at the Sunnyside Albertsons is so awesome, it’s actually rad. I think that my previous directions were a bit wordy, so I’m going to break it down without the superfluous language.
From now until Sunday, sign up for a free checking account at the Sunnyside Albertsons U.S. Bank branch and get up to $75 worth of free Albertsons purchases.
This deal is offered ONLY at the Sunnyside Albertsons in celebration of the store’s remodel. This deal is good for new U.S. Bank customers only and not valid for those who have taken advantage of a U.S. Bank promotion within the past six months.
1. Sign up for the account at the Sunnyside/Happy Valley Albertson’s branch & deposit at least $100. They will give you a temporary debit card.
2. Immediately purchase gift cards totally $75 (lots to choose from, including Albertsons). Make sure you choose the “credit” key and not the “debit” key when you check out. You can also buy $75 worth of stuff at Albertsons, but it’s easier to just get the gift card(s).
3. Immediately take the receipt to the U.S. Bank counter where you signed up and they will reimburse your account the $75. It will be credited by the next business day.
This whole process can be completed in one trip within 15 minutes if there’s not a line at the bank.
I don’t know how long you have to keep the account open. Someone please ask and comment. My mother-in-law did the deal last fall and was told she had to keep at least $5 in the account for six months or they would charge her the $75 back.
Here’s the best part — the bank employees are expecting you. They know we are going just to get the free $75. And they are happy that we are coming in. You don’t have to pretend you want anything other than the deal they are offering.
And tell them Frugal Living NW sent you!
