I am so excited to announce that my husband and I are teaching a new Frugal Living NW class — An Introduction to Budgeting: Creating a monthly spending plan that really works.
Many of you want to live on a zero-based cash flow plan (the Dave Ramsey budget), but need instruction, inspiration or a good ole’ kick in the pants. Maybe you’ve never heard of this type of budget, but know that you are on the road to financial chaos (or are currently living in chaos) and need a lifeline.
Our family has been diligently living on a budget for the past four years: a budget where every dollar is spent on paper before the month begins. At the beginning of every month, we sit down and figure out how we will spend our income. Down to the penny. And it has totally transformed the way we spend our money, prepare for the future and interact as a team.
Want to know the best part? We rarely, if ever, argue about money. We don’t even have heated discussions about how we spend our money. And it’s not because we have a lot of money or we usually don’t fight. Ask any of our friends. We bicker with the best of them. And we’re known to really argue. But our commitment to living on a budget has taken away all the fun (did I say that?) and fire out of financial disagreements.
We’ve worked out a bunch of the kinks of creating and living on a monthly cash flow plan and we want to share everything we know with you.
What you can expect from us: We will be fun (seriously, my husband owns an ice cream truck). We will be real. And we will help you.

Introduction to Budgeting
Thursday, November 4
Damascus Community Church
We are not charging a fee for this class. We would appreciate $2 cash per family to cover the church’s materials costs.
I know many of you think you need to pack a lunch if you’re going to Damascus. Honestly, it’s not too far out — a 10 minute drive from the Foster Rd, Clackamas Town Center and Highway 212 exits off I-205.
Go here to reserve your space. We strongly encourage both partners attend this class.
