Walgreens 4-Day Sale Scenarios

There are some great ways to start the Register Rewards rolling this week at Walgreens. Check out The Thrifty Mama’s list of scenarios here.

Remember the essential rule with playing Walgreens: you will have to get things you don’t necessarily need or use to make money to buy the things you do need. Think creatively about what you can do with the extra stuff, which is easy to do around Christmas and spend your Register Rewards intentionally. Buy what your family needs right now or will need in the very near future. I usually think one month out. If a need is more than that, I try to wait for a sale when I can get it for free.

Comment with any successes or failures at Walgreens this week!

I made a trip to Wag’s yesterday and got 4 wal-itin’s and 2 boxes of kleenex (on sale for 89 cents ea) using a $5 rr that I already had from a recent purchase. Got my $5 rr and then planned my 2nd trip. 2nd trip: 2 rolls “tuf” paper towels, 3 bottles excedrin express gels, 2 reach toothbrushes, 1 colgate max toothbrush, and 1 caramel for filler. After mc’s and my $5rr paid $9.63oop, and got back another $5rr, $8rr, and $2rr. For some reason the $6rr for reach didn’t print, and I didn’t catch it until we got home. Still, not too bad, and I have one or two more trips to make before the ad ends.
