A Walgreens opened up in my (Seattle) neighborhood just yesterday, so this was my first time there navigating the coupon/RR craziness.

I picked up three of the nice aluminum foil ($0.99 with coupon), two nice wax paper ($1.09 with coupon), and one nice toilet paper ($5). That adds up to more than $10, so I anticipated a $2 RR. I didn’t get one, and the manager told me that’s because the RR for this deal only prints out if you don’t use any coupons. Does that sound right? Did anyone else have that happen?

It sounded a little fishy to me, but I didn’t have any proof that he was wrong, and for $2 I just let it go.

Does anyone know if the Lysol coupons were regional? I got a paper and one from a co-worker and I didn’t have any Lysol coupons. 🙁

Today I had the worst experiences I have EVER had while couponing. I saw some women that I see weekly at RA, at Walgreens also this week. I have a pet name for them because of the way they treat the store staff and how I feel about them, anyway… they cleared (COMPLETELY) the shelves on all of the “free” items. I walked into the store at the same time as them and went to get the aquafresh toothpaste, by the time I got to the “free” items they had their carts filled and the shelves completely cleaned. I was beyond devasted and disappointed, the staff at Walgreens was scrambling to figure out what to do and to see if there was a way to stop them from doing 10+ transactions and buying everything.

I think the store could put signs up that they can limit how many of each item any one person can get per day. I’ve read on another post that they do, and also it is usually only for the first 3 days of the sale or so after that they can buy whatever is left. I think these people are resellers if not hoarders. I have never seen one myself, but I am not at the store on sunday morning, I would be if I absolutely really needed to get the specific item.

That is sooo frustrating. There is usually more than enough to go around on the freebies and stock up deals. If each person just took 4 of each item that would be more than enough to make use of the great deal. I hate going in, finding everything already gone and having to leave empty handed. Plus those shelf clearers give the rest of us a bad name!
Sorry for you’re bad experience but don’t let it get you down.

You can perhaps suggest your Wag to limit item per transaction.
My Wag limits 3 items per customer. It’s frustrating sometimes because they won’t let me buy 4 of the things when the deal needs me to purchase 4. Once they even told me I can’t buy my 3 items because I was there before (obviously got me confused with someone else.)

But in your case, it could be helpful. Ask the manager to limit 3 items till the end of the week. If these hoarders want to clean out the shelves they are welcome to do so on Saturday after everyone else have a chance to get theirs.

Is this a new “spend $10 on Nice, get $2 RR” or the same one from next week?
