Walgreens: Toilet paper and Vitamin-C gummies transactions

This was a pretty good week for me to start playing Walgreens again, as the Davis family was in need of toilet paper. Luckily, at least in the TP department, we only have 2 females in our household, so it takes us awhile to go through our toilet paper. Amber from Coupon Connections stayed at our house for a week in August with her 3 girls and 1 boy and I could not believe how we were burning through the stuff! Now I understand why some of you are so desperate for toilet paper deals!

Here are my transactions this week at Walgreens:

Cottonelle (12 pk) on sale $5
Buy 2, Get $3 Register Reward
Bought 2 = $10
Used (2) $.50/1 coupons (-$1)
Used $1/1 Walgreens store coupon (-$2)
Paid $7, Received $3 RR

I did this deal twice, so I have (2) $3 Register Rewards to use.

I then planned to roll the Register Rewards to the Ester-C Gummies deal, but the store only had 1 left. The manager gave it to me for 50% off, but that meant I couldn’t use my $3 Register Reward.

Ester-C Gummies on sale BOGO (2/$6.99)
Bought 1 at 50% off = $3.49
Used $2/1 coupon — search “Health Care” to find it quickly
$1.49 after coupon

I also picked up a raincheck for more gummies, which will allow me to get the sale price when the store is restocked. The sale runs through 10/18, but I wanted to be safe. The $2/1 coupons don’t expire until the end of November and Walgreens rainchecks don’t expire, so I’ll have plenty of time to do the deal.

I spent $15.49 total out-of-pocket and have (2) $3 Register Rewards to use for two month’s worth of toilet paper and gummie vitamins. I’m hoping to use one or both of them on more Ester-C gummies, as next week’s deals aren’t especially appealing to me. I might break down and get next week’s Campbell’s soup deal or perhaps the Lysol Disinfecting Wipes deal, but that means no Register Rewards rolling, which is one of my goals.

Go here to see this week and next week’s Walgreen’s deals.

Oh! Gotcha…it was the blue ones that I bought and there were no purples….so that makes perfect sense.

Suzy, make sure that you buy the Ultra (purple package, not the blue package). I did the same thing the other day and I had bought the blue package 🙂 I just returned them and bought the purple ones and it printed the $3 RR. 🙂 Hope that helps 🙂

Meekin…I thought about doing the Garnier deal but saw that Albertson’s had them on sale for $2.50 and with the a $1 off coupon per item, plus the twice the value coupons in this weeks papers it will only be 50cents per item! If you still have coupons you might try there instead 🙂

I have a question, and could use some input. I purchased this deal, and used $3 Register Rewards to pay for the toilet paper, but they told me I had to buy a “filler” item to allow the RR to work? I am so confused. Rite Aid’s +Up Rewards seems to be better than Walgreens in my opinion 😉

David: This post should explain why you need a filler item when using a RR to pay for a transaction:

Also, if you’re using a $3 RR from the Cottonelle to pay for a second Cottonelle deal, the second RR will not print. RRs do not roll to identical RR deals at Walgreens.

My Wags limits the number of Cottonelle packages to 2 packages (one RR!) per household! ugh! I hate hw one bad couponer ruins it for all of us! (There is one lady that gets to Wags the first day of each sale, right when they open and wipe out our shelves!!!) Does anyone else’s Wags limit the number of items you can purchase? I was only trying to buy 4 packages- only 2 RRs!

I looked at least four Walgreens stores in my area and none had the purple packs. Only the blue ones. Since I had a $7 RR that was expiring in two days, I bit the bullet and bought the blue packs knowing they don’t produce the RR using the $1 Wag coupon and two $0.75/1 Mfg coupons plus smaller filler. Rite-Aid’s been better to me lately anyways.

On Wednesday I had stopped by Glisan and 223rd and they told me they didn’t get any on their shipment from that morning.
I was in Gresham, @ Burnside near Hogan Thursday afternoon and they had a lot of boxes full by the door. Hope they still have some for anyone that needs them.
I never buy more than my family needs so, never had a problem anyone telling me there is a limit.

I bought the TP at wags, but I dont think its a very good deal. The rolls are to small for the price. I get double rolls of MD at winco $5 ish for 12 rolls. Its good TP and the price is good to.And no one likes to change the roll all the time.LOL ( Dbl rolls are great!!)

I was curious, how many times can you do this deal before your welness card won’t work to do it anymore?

Register Rewards deals are not limited by your Rewards Card.

You may have trouble using your Walgreens RR at Fred Meyers. They changed their coupon policy and it now states they do not accept manufacture’s coupon that state they are valid only at at another listed retailer (i.e., “Good at Safeway”). I believe the Walgreens RR now say something like that.

I just had this problem! never had it before, wasnt sure if Walgreens catalinas had changed but looks like they may have…it said Only Redeemable at Walgreens. Looks like yet another reason for me not to shop Walgreens!

If and when I do a walgreen’s deal with an RR, I just use them up at Freddies rather than trying to roll them and having to ad an unneeded item to my trans.

I was down to my last 2 rolls and happened across a great deal at QFC. They have their Home Sense brand- 6-Double rolls for $1.99 (1/2 price) I bought a 6-pack to “try it out” and it is good stuff! Went back for 4 more packages 🙂
