I was a little worried going into this week that I wouldn’t have enough money because I ended up doing a last minute deal last week so I had to deduct that out of this weeks food budget. No need for me to worry, however, as I scored some sweet deals this weekend, had food leftover from last week and had enough left to buy the perishables I needed for this week. Plus, there’s always my garden!
Here’s how I did:
Okay, so this adds up to $44.32.
I’m okay with that.
Plus, I do have the $5 catalina from Albies still, so I’ll just subtract the $4.32 from next week and still have $40 to work with.
If the variety in my shopping looks like it is lacking in areas it is because I have many things in my pantry, freezer, fridge and garden. My garden, especially, is keeping me well stocked in the vegetable department with green beans, snap peas, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, carrots and yellow squash. Our raspberries are producing a ton of delicious berries as well and we have gone blackberry picking which is free too. On top of that I have been baking cookies and breads for snacks, in fact, I just realized today that I need to stop making things as the boys and I won’t be able to eat it all soon enough. For such a small food budget, we are truly blessed with abundance!
