I did a lot of stops this week which isn’t neccessarily normal. I usually do 2 -3 but this week I did 5, and I haven’t even gone to Walgreen’s to use my Register Rewards yet. Thankfully, I only had my boys three out of the five trips.
First Stop: Trader Joe’s 1 pkge white mushrooms $1.49
2 bags Organic whole wheat pasta $1.29 each
1 bag baby spinach $1.99
TJ’s Olive Oil $3.99
Pumpkin Pie spice $1.99
Honey Bear $2.79
TJ’s Pad Thai $1.69
Organic Tortilla chips $2.59 (thought they were 1.99)
total = $19.11
I am constantly amazed at how low Trader Joes prices are. I am thinking of doing an experiment to see what it costs to buy all my groceries at TJ’s, but I don’t know if I can handle not taking advantage of coupon deals at other stores!
Next Stop: Safeway I went in to do the “Buy 10 Save $5” deal and after putting a few things in my cart i realized that I just didn’t really need any of that stuff, even if it was a good deal. So I put it all back and started over with things I actually did need. I spent more money, but came out with much healthier food.
Olive Oil Spray $3.00
16oz. Sour Cream $1.49
Chocolate chips $2.00
red onion $.50
red bell pepper $1.50
bean sprouts $1.49
4 Del Monte fruit cups $6.00 – $4.00 in coupons – $2.00 DBL = FREE!

Whole Wheat bread $1.09
Texas Toast $1.19 for my Blueberry French Toast bake on Saturday
Curry Powder $1.19
2 Pringles $1.45 each
= $.45 each These are to replace the ones Nik eats up at Grandma’s house:)
2 Packs of 2 Rubbermaid containers 2/$3

= $.50 each
Total = $2.90
Total spent $43.23 A few dollars over my target food budget. I just couldn’t resist using those Albertsons Doubles though. I have been hitting my goal farely consistently though, so I give myself some leeway sometimes. I’m nice like that;)
