Whole (uncooked) chickens will be on sale this Friday only (11/11) for $1.29/lb at Whole Foods. There is a limit of 10 per person.
This is great price for whole chickens. I use Emily’s recipe to bake it in the oven, then throw the bones in the crockpot overnight with some water, veggies, garlic, and onion. I then strain it and make my own stock. I get about 10 cups that I freeze in 2 cup portions to have ready when needed.
