So question on the buy 10 save 5 can I buy 12 items and save the money on all if them or do I need to buy 20 items I wanna do the hambuger helper and buy 10 but then I wanna buy 2 potatoes also can I do that?

I also tried to buy the three boxes cereal, 6 boxes ham helper, two boxes granola and two boxes brownies, all with coupons and doublers. The checker wouldnt let me, so She split it into three transactions breaking apart the “buy 10 of these products deal” which left me with full price ham helper, and the coupons that I had she would only allow me to use one manu coupon with doubler per set of items (like 1$/3 cereal).
I didn’t fare so well in the end. I am new to couponing, had a looong line behind me, and my 5month old baby with that began to cry! Yikes!!
    Bad experience.
Does the checker sound like she was right?
    thanks for the feedback.

You can only use one sheet of doublers per transaction, so if you were trying to use a double with each coupon she split it up for that reason.

I have a question. In the example above with the cereal,The promo is 2.49/box, if you have a coupon that says 1$/3, you purchase three boxes, use the coupon and a doubler how is the cereal free?
The checker at albertsons said that I can only use one manufacturer coupon per group of three boxes of cereal.
    Is that correct?

It is correct – if you are using $1/3, you can only use one coupon for each group of 3. The free cereal would be with a very specific combination of items – In this case, you would have to buy Trix, use the $1/1 coupon with a doubler, and an additional 9 items in the promo for a $5 instant savings, working out to $.50 off of each of the 10 items. So – $2.49 less the $1/1, less the doubler, less the instant savings works out to free – HTH

Did two transactions yesterday using twice the value coupons.

    First transaction:
10 boxes Betty Crocker Potatoes at $1 each = $10.00
used five .50/2 from GM 9/11, three Twice the Value coupons and received $5 instant savings
    Total: $1 OOP

    Second Transaction:
    10 boxes Hamburger Helper at $1 each = $10.00
used three .75/3 from 7/17 SS, three Twice the Value coupons and received $5 instant savings
    Total: .50 OOP

Stocked a good portion of my pantry for $1.50. This was one of my best trips ever.

We did very similar transactions – I did two, and my daughter did two…We got 12 boxes of Helper, 12 Betty Crocker, 4 Garnier Shampoo, and 6 Green Giant veggies. OOP $4, got $4 in Cats, making everything free – that’s always fun

    We did this:

    5 Yoplait Delights (used 75/1 q) =7.70
    30 GM Cereals (Used $1/3 q) =49.70
    8 Progresso Soups (Used $1/4) = 8.32
    4 rolls of cookie dough (Use $1/1) = $5.96
    8 Totinos Pizza (Used $1/4) = $6.00
    5 Cereal Bars (Use 50/1) = $9.95

We each did 3 transactions and were able to use 3 doublers per transaction, since we broke them down to each transaction having at least 3 $1 off q’s we got everything for just under $70.00 and we got 210 Bonus Box Tops (The GM Buy 10 save 5 overlaps with the Get 10 Bonus Box Tops when you purchase any 10 General Mills Box Tops for Education products promo). VERY happy with our trip last night 🙂

We don’t get Albie’s ads in the Longview paper, so I am excited that we are able to print them from their FB page. Printed a bunch, the wife had 4 transactions, I had three. We weren’t able to double everything we bought because of the $5 of 10 items

Can you use 3 doublers in one transaction? Also can you only use 3 doublers a week? Do they keep track with your Albertsons card?

    • charolyn says

If you mean 3 individual doublers (not 3 sets of 3) then yes. You can use as many as you can get-which is just in the paper now, and just this week-see above you can print 3 more per computer also. No they don’t track them on your card. Also general practice is that if you have 3 sets of 3-you can split it up into 3 transactions and do them in a row and not have to get back in line.

If you buy 10 of the extra value Hamburger Helpers they are only .50 cents each =5.00
    Use 3 (.75 off +3 ttv) = 4.50 off
You end up spending .50 but getting a catalina for $2 off chicken, beef, or tuna

The tacoma tribune found at Safeway in Seattle, didnt have the GM Insert, and the SS insert had different Qs than the ones in the Seattle Times, for instance the SS found in the Seattle Times have the Scott’s Paper Towel Q(which I was looking for to use at RiteAid on 9/18), but the SS in the Tacoma Tribune didn’t have this Q.

Your best deal there would be 1 of those, 5 hamburger helpers, and 4 progresso (they are actually 1.79-so a pretty good deal)=using 3 coupons.
If you have more than one set of doublers (ask around to friends and family) you could get more smoothies by doing more than one round of doubles.

I must be confused?! Fairly new…but if you have to buy 10 items to get the gm promo deal price and can only use 3 doubles with coupons, how are the items free? Scenerio…. if you have to buy ten items and they are $2.49 = $24.90 if you have 10 $1.00 coupons=14.90 minus $5.00 instant off= $9.90 and $3.00 off with doubles = $6.90! how is this free?

Nothing wrong with your math, you’ve got it right…but for that one its free 🙂 so then you try to pair it in combinations that will take less $ out of pocket so you still get the savings…you could get 4 pizzas, 4 soup & 2 potato with 3qs + 3dblrs? Wouldn’t be my first choice items either, but it would work *shrug*

Laura, you can only print three doubles per computer, so unless you have four or five computers, you can only get three doublers. period. At lease when they are in the newspapers, you can buy extra papers (I get 4 per week) to get more doublers. I will no longer bother with Alby’s if this becomes the norm.
