What’s up with the price of butter, these days (other than the price)?
I can’t answer your question, because I buy butter only when it’s on sale (usually Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas) and freeze it. $2 is the most I will pay, and I often pay less than that. That’s the best way to go if you can afford to buy a few lbs at a time and have the storage space.
I may start doing that, but I have a question since you are experienced in this matter: Does the butter deteriorate after thawing or does it keep like fresh? And, how long does it keep frozen? Thanks!
I freeze butter all the time and notice no difference at all. I’ve had frozen butter for a really, really long time and again, no problems. (Long like more than a year.)
