A few months ago, a friend gave my baby daughter a few pairs of baby leggings. They floated around the house for a few days until my boys discovered them and repurposed those things into something useful. When on a baby’s legs, then provide warmth and style. When on a boy’s arms, they allow the wearer to harness super powers. Totally awesome, except that they were pink and yellow and flowered.
I then discovered this awesome deal from Baby Leggings last week — Get 5 pairs of baby leggings for FREE (you just pay the shipping and handling costs). I scrolled through their impressive selection and found what I was looking for: Super Power Armbands. We call them “armies” — feel free to co-opt the term.
Apparently shirts are optional for web pics when you’re six.
Fire armies — Gives you fire power
Spider armies — Gives you Spiderman powers
American Flag armies — Gives you Captain America powers (what exactly does he do?)
There are tons of styles that could also harness supernatural power. Really, just buy a bunch and see what the kid comes up with — I’m thinking the black and white stripes give you the power to break out of jail? Space ships blast you into outer space? Camo makes you invisible?
Obviously, armband powers are not limited to one gender. My youngest is just as obsessed with wearing armies:
That’s her posing-for-the-camera-with-armies-on look. Tough and sweet. Nailed it. I would like to say that this pic was taken in the morning, but alas, she was wearing pajamas all day. Her choice.
Baby Leggings has actual girl styles that would work for legs or as armbands:
She could shoot stars out of her hands, throw a rainbow, or just flit around like a fairy.
This child has been sleeping in his armies, wearing them to church, and trying to wedge them on his calves for extra power.
As I was going through all our armband promotion photos, I noticed that I had no evidence that these things actually work as baby leggings. So, here you go:
Arms and legs. Perfect. The leggings are one-size and fit babies 6-35 pounds, but they will fit any size arm :).
