If you’re expecting a baby before the end of 2009 and are considering hiring someone to help you after the baby is born (a brilliant idea, by the way!), please stop by and check out Caitlin Lopez at Hands & Feet Doula Services. Caitlin is a Frugal Living NW reader in SE Portland and is working to attain her full DONA certification. She needs just a few more clients to finish her required hours before her own baby is due in December.
For the next three qualifying families, Caitlin is offering 8-10 hours of postpartum doula services for free (15 hour minimum contract required). She offers tons of services that include breastfeeding support, light housekeeping, basic newborn care and all-around support. Caitlin’s offer is an incredible deal!
I believe postpartum support is absolutely essential. If your mom or sister isn’t staying with you for a couple of weeks after your baby’s birth, please consider getting committed, in-home help for a short time either with Caitlin or another qualified postpartum professional.
**Rebecca & I are not receiving any incentive from Caitlin for offering this opportunity to our readers, nor have we experienced Hands & Feet’s services personally. Please thoroughly interview any birth professional to make sure he/she is qualified and you are comfortable with him/her as a person.
BTW: You don’t even know how many placenta shots I had to scroll through to get the sweet baby photo for this post. Why would anyone put their baby’s placenta under a Creative Commons license in Flickr? Grody.
