My assignment for this week was to print off the “Every Week Documents” as well as 20 pages of a colorful document from each printer. The Every Week Documents looked pretty similar to last week, with a little bit of banding on the pages from the refilled ink as seen before.
The 20 pages of colorful documents did show a noticeable difference. The Original HP ink definitely prints more true to the actual color, and there is no banding or streaking on the documents. The color documents printed with the refilled ink did not quite measure up to the Original HP ink. The differences (so far) are subtle enough that for most printing done at home, refilled ink cartridges would be just fine. That being said, I can see why it would be worth it to buy the Original HP ink when printing important documents for your business, family Christmas letter, or school projects.
Here’s a picture of the color document printed with a refilled ink cartridge:
And here’s a picture of the same document printed with an original HP cartridge:
The colors show up a little bit better with the original ink cartridge and there are no lines in the picture. A small difference really, but if presentation is what you’re going for, the original HP cartridges are what you want to use.
