Looking for free kids & maternity clothes and kids toys? Have a bunch of stuff you want to go to a good home? Head over to the Kids & Maternity Clothing plus Toy Swap sponsored by PDX Swap this Saturday, November 14. This is a free event and is open to the public (no RSVP required).
The swap will be help during the Keep Portland Weird Community Festival at the Portalnd Central Library downtown in the Children’s Story Theatre.
Drop in during the specific swaps that interest you:
1:00 – 1:45 pm: Maternity clothing, Children’s clothing (baby 0-24 months, toddler 2-4 years) and toddler accessories (car seats, strollers, highchairs)
2:00 – 2:45 pm: Kid’s clothing (early years 5-7 yrs, pre-teen 8-12, tean 13-16+) and accessories
3:00 – 3:45 pm: Small & medium sized toys swap
How the swap works:
Clothes will be separated into general size groups and marked with signs. Before you arrive, separate clothing by size to maximize your swap time. Arrive 10 minutes before your swap — hand on to your stuff until it’s time to swap.
Space is limited, so pack light and make sure you bring someone along to watch your kids.
What to bring:
Clean clothes and toys in good repair and usable condition. There are no minimum requirements for how many items you have to bring or how many you can take but please be courteous and generous.
Items that don’t get picked up will be donated to low income and high needs families in the community.
Rebecca & I attended a swap like this a couple of years ago and were very impressed with the quality of items others swapped. There are always TONS of baby clothes. If you’re low on cash and either have a little baby or are pregnant, be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.
PDX Swap coordinates lots of different swaps so be sure to check out their website and get on their email list to be notified of future swaps in the Portland Metro area.
