Did you know that military personnel living overseas can redeem manufacturer’s coupons up to six months past the expiration date at on-base stores? All they need is for people in the States to mail their current or expired coupons to them. We have adopted the Camp Foster military base in Okinawa, Japan and have set up a system to make it easy for you to give your coupons to those serving our country!
All of your efforts are helping over 50 families stationed in Japan and more are asking for coupons every time Cara, our coupon organizer on the base, is in the store. Would you take a few minutes to gather coupons and mail them to Cara and her couponing crew?
Here are the directions:
:: Organize recently expired or current CLIPPED manufacturer’s coupons (NOT store coupons) into two baggies: FOOD and NON-FOOD. You can send newspaper, printable, tearpad, peelie and blinkie coupons.
:: Put the baggies, along with a notecard with your email address so Cara can let you know she received the coupons, into a mailing envelope and send it to:
PSC 557 Box 164
FPO, AP 96379
Mailing an envelope to an overseas military base is the same price as mailing to your grandmother in Ohio. If you plan on sending a larger package of coupons, go here for shipping directions.
Please DO NOT do the following things:
- Send store or restaurant coupons.
- Send coupons more than 2 months past the expiration date.
- Send full inserts. You MUST clip them.
- Use paper clips, rubber bands or staples to organize the coupons. Don’t get tricky — just use a baggie.
Thank you for using your coupons to help military personnel at Camp Foster save money! You are all much appreciated.
