Rite Aid: Changes to the Wellness+ program (starting January 2012)

I’m sure most of you have heard some rumors circulating about changes to the Wellness+ program, so here is what I know for sure.

The Silver and Gold level memberships of the Wellness+ card will stay the same, but they are adding a Bronze level.  When you reach 250 points in a calendar year, you will automatically receive 10% off all regular-priced Rite Aid brand products.

The only additional thing that will change about our membership level is for those that reach the Silver level (500 points).  You will automatically receive a wellness reward of your choice (gym membership, magazine subscription + more options).  These will print out on your register receipt with instructions on how to redeem.

Rite Aid is introducing a program called Load2Card, a coupon management program, that will allow us to load Rite Aid store coupons and manufacturer coupons directly on to our Wellness+ card.  They will still accept paper coupons.  I won’t know anymore about this program until it launches, so I can’t answer a whole lot of questions about it right now.

One rumor that looks to be put to rest is the fact that +UP Rewards were going to be loaded on to our Wellness+ card instead of printing at the bottom of our receipts.  The press release I received states that our +UP Rewards will still print on our receipts and can be used like cash towards our next purchase.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Remember, this is the only information I have right now so I can’t tell you too much more.  I’ll keep you updated as I hear more.  As it stands right now, these changes don’t look all that significant to me.

For detailed information on the Wellness+ program, check out the Rite Aid store guide.

No prescriptions, but I do have 6 free 32 Load Bottles of Tide Coupons, I was saving for a sale with UP rewards or Target Gift Cards, but tomorrow may be the day to use them. I figured it was before coupons because I didn’t think I had spent $935 at Rite Aid this year, thanks for the info…

Are the Wellness Points figured before coupons? I am 65 points short of 1000 and trying to plan a shopping trip.

Mine has always been figured before coupons, although I’m not 100% sure it says anywhere. If you have any free coupons, this would be the time to use them! Do you have any prescriptions you could refill?

I had heard that as well, but it doesn’t seem that there will be any changes to the way the +UPs are handled. At least for right now, that seems to have stayed the same. What I had heard was that they were going to be loaded on to your card instead of printing, and that’s how they would regulate when you could use them.

Do you know if we can purchase gift cards from Rite Aid & have those count as wellness+ points?? I’m a little under 300 points away from 1000 for this year & hate to have them reset! I need gift cards for some gifts anyway, so this would be GREAT!

    Thanks in advance!

How many points to reach Gold? I have over 600 now. I know my standing carries over but not my points to next year.
