Rite Aid Deals for January 23-29

Shared on January 22, 2011
This post may contain affiliate links which means I make a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you. See the disclosure policy for more information.

Here are a few of the highlights of the deals at Rite Aid this week. Stop by This Beautiful Frugal Life to see a full list, including a number of deal scenarios.

IMPORTANT: The January Video Values coupons will be pulled today (1/22). You don’t need to print or use them by today, but the videos must be watched. The coupons will stay in your account until you print them. I do suggest you watch videos for the products you might buy if they ended up being free. There may be a similar VV coupon available in February, which you can stack with both a January VV coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon in February.

Here are links and coupons you may need to score big this week at Rite Aid:

:: Video Values coupons
:: Single Check Rebate program

    Do different versions of SS print out based on region? I have gone through my 1/16 SS insert at least 5 times now and can’t find anything for Colgate. 🙁 I’m in Bellingham, WA so it’s not like I’m on the Eastcoast or anything.

      Yes, they do change regionally. Sometimes Seattle will get coupons that Portland does not or vice versa.

    I can’t find the Fiber Plus coupon – do I have to enter a different zip code maybe?

    I’m really new to this system. How exactly does it work to get the lightbulbs free? Don’t you have to buy the item first, and then you get a reward credit for your next visit? Please help me understand!!

      You’re right, you do have to buy the item first, so not technically free. 🙂
      The best part about Rite Aid is that you can roll the rewards. So you could buy one pack of lightbulbs for $1.99, receive $1.99 reward and then roll this right into the next transaction. Buy another pack of lightbulbs, use the reward from the previous transaction, pay zero and get another $1.99 reward.

      Does that make sense? So there is an initial out of pocket cost, you’re right. We just say it is “like” getting it for free to hopefully avoid confusion. If you have any previous +UP Rewards from last week, you can use those to lower your initial out of pocket cost.

      Sign up for a Wellness card at the counter (very fast), then UP credits are printed like a coupon at the bottom of your receipt, they expire so don’t forget – the GE bulbs on 2-12. You can’t use credits for prescriptions, tobacco, alcohol, the usual suspects.

    I just got back from Rite Aid in Medford and was able to buy 6 packs of the GE bulbs. I also used a coupon for Mini Snicker Bars & M&Ms buy 2 save $1.50 They had the Valentines bags on sale $2/5 get $1 up reward back so ended up being 2/$4 -$1.50 coupon so $1.25 per bag for the Valentine bags. Awesome!

    Just got back from Rite Aid and can confirm that at least six +UP Rewards will print for the light bulbs!

      Thanks Melody for your scenario on the Nature Made deal. I haven’t found anyone so far who has posted a scenario so I appreciate all your hard work in putting this one together!

        I’m glad it was useful for you Krista! I double checked at the store this morning and there is nothing about a limit on the $16 +UP Rewards AND they are marked as part of the Winter Rewards! Such a smoking deal..

        P.S. I’m glad it made sense. My two year old got up crazy early this morning so I posted it before coffee. 🙂

          Can you use some of your Up rewards to pay for the $46.98 out of pocket or do you have to pay cash to qualify for one of these deals? Want to make sure I do everything right as I am new to RiteAid. Thank you so much for your post and your help.

            You can definitely use your rewards to lower your out of pocket. The only thing I would be careful of is the Nature Made mail-in rebate. It does specifically say $30 AFTER coupons and discounts, so my suggestion would be to use enough rewards to bring your out of pocket just above $30. Just to be safe. 🙂

    I’ve never done a video value before…the link above takes me to a page that says “page not found” sponsored by Ad Perk, and gives me a list of links…same page comes up from Rite Aid’s website for video values link…is that normal? Am I supposed to chose from the links that come up?

      Try it again this morning. 9 PM PST is when they usually update their coupons for the new month (this month of VV coupons started today), so their site was probably down for a little bit. It’s coming up for me fine this morning. Good luck!

    I have a quick question about Video Values. In your note at the top of the post it says that you can stack a January and a February VV coupon. I asked about doing this at my Rite Aid earlier this month (I bought a Vicks humidifier and there were $5 VV coupons for both December and January). The manager told me no, that they could only take one VV coupon per item. At my Rite Aid the managers and cashiers are usually helpful and great (plus I’m kinda new to couponing) so I didn’t question it – but should I have?

      You can use two video values coupons from different months as long as you are buying two of the items. It’s not actually stacking. Stacking is using two coupons on one item, which can only be done when its one store coupon with one man. coupon. Make sense?

        Thank you, Michelle. That was my understanding. I just got confused about this: “There may be a similar VV coupon available in February, which you can stack with both a January VV coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon in February.” Makes it sound like you can use 2 VV coupons on one item, as long as they are from different months.

    I just got back from my local store to check a few things out for tomorrow’s sale. My store didn’t carry the 4 oz Cetaphil cleanser. The cheapest item was the cleansing bar at $4.49 ($3.49 after sale starting tomorrow), but all the coupons exclude bars.

    Maybe keep this as a “possible” deal when heading in tomorrow. I hope some of your stores carry it!

    The bar is still a decent deal. After $2 +UP Reward, should be around $1.49!

    For the Cetaphil skin cleanser – there is a MQ for $2/1 in a recent Feb. magazine – I think it was in ‘Good Housekeeping’ (Feb. 2011). Has anyone else seen this?

      I agree-I think they should do it more-and the limit is 6-so that is still a large amount.
      I saw the types they have today-100, 75, 60 and 40 watt.

      The limit is 6 and it is linked to your Rewards card – if you try to buy more than 6 hoping for more Ups to print out – they won’t.

    Thanks for the heads up on the GE coupon. I checked Hot Coupon World and it just said GE light bulbs (or something equally as generic) and we didn’t get the coupon, so I couldn’t confirm. Still a great deal as they are basically free after +UP Reward!

    The only GE light bulb coupon I have from 1-9 SS is for these light bulbs: Reveal, Energy Smart CFL & LED or Halogen. The light bulbs on sale at RiteAid are GE soft white light bulbs. So I’m assuming I can’t use these coupons??? Is there another coupon your referring to?
