We received an email from reader LeeAnn a few days ago with information about the new Load2Card program at Rite Aid. I know some of you have had some struggles opting out of the program in-store, so hopefully this information will help.
Just a little background: Rite Aid recently launched the Load2Card program, which means that your +UP Rewards will automatically be loaded on to your Wellness+ card instead of printing at the bottom of your receipt. I know there are some challenges to this method, so they have offered the option to “opt out” and continue to have your rewards print at the bottom of your receipt.
All stores should have received a release that looks similar to the image above. The text that came underneath this image gives simple instructions to the cashier on how to opt you out of the program. I did it at my local store on Tuesday morning and took less than 3 minutes and was absolutely no problem for the cashier. The very first transaction I did immediately afterwards gave me printed rewards at the bottom of my receipt.
If you run into trouble at your store and it seems they don’t know anything about it, you have a few options. You can ask them to call corporate or even another store in their area and ask for instructions on how to do the opt-out program. What was listed on the release and told to me by my local manager is that the cashier needs to hit “Shift-ESC” on their registers and it will pull up the needed screen. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, you can call Rite Aid’s customer service at 1-800-RITE-AID and opt out through them.
