Thanks, Who Spends Money for the early ad preview!
Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) says
Is the $10 off $50 in the paper today?
Howard says
Good question, should be in Wednesday Oregonian.
Adriana says
For the Tide, there is $3/2 from 5/31 P&G insert, also I have couple of $1.50\1 that I printed couple a weeks ago, it could be double or not depending of the cashier.
Cheryl says
Has everyone noticed the new “buy 1 get 2 free” on meat at Safeway? This is the Albertson’s marketing starting to show up at Albertson’s. The prices are generally 3 times what I would pay anyway. Sad to see the changes starting. Sigh
Jaz says
Now that you mention it I have and that’s true!
Which shows we all need to remember to do our math.
Caro says
And, since they have changed from Rancher’s Reserve, the meat isn’t as good.
Tracy says
Where is the Oroweat thrift store you go to?
Cheryl says
Tracy,
There is one in Beaverton off Bvtn Hillsdale, on Western. It is just down from Michaels and Kaiser
Tracy says
Thank you Cheryl!
Howard says
I was just at the Beav store today. It’s on 5th St, just west of Western, around the corner from Kaiser and Michael’s. I found tons of buttermilk and sweet Hawaiian breads for $1.10 or $1.75 (depending on age) that are a full 2 lbs each. I chatted up the cashier, and she said they came from Costco. I believe it’s closed on Sundays. 10% discount for old farts like me (age 62+), and ask for a punch card that gets you a free item once it’s filled.
Howard says
Oroweat cpn NLA. Fortunately for me, there’s an Oroweat store not too far away where I can get unexpired breads for $.99 senior price ($1.10 otherwise). And free cookie samples….
Cheryl says
Howard,
Love that store. I go by about every 5-6 weeks and get 5 loafs and freeze it. Just so much better than store brand.
Howard says
Glad to hear it. I bought 3 today that went right into the freezer. I like the rye breads because I eat (too much) lunchmeat. Always pay $.99 with my senior discount. Too bad they had no Entenmann’s doughnuts on the cheapo rack today. 🙁
PJ says
There’s also Simply Potatoes with s/c for 2/3, match it with the m/c in 5/20 SS then double it for .45 each.
vickly says
Can you freeze simply potatoes?
Howard says
If they’re not already sold frozen (i.e. refrigerated), I’d certainly freeze them.
Lissa says
Just did this deal and for 2 packages I also got a catalina for $1.50 off my next shopping trip! Making them free + $0.60 overage 🙂 thank you!!!
Howard says
Tried it today, bought 2, no catalina. 🙁 Cashier is a friend, so she gave me a $1.50 future credit slip.
