Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. Safeway is inconsistent from store to store about doubling internet printed coupons. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

Are the fruit snacks/fruit by the foot coupons by chance on the page with the other Safeway store coupons? I looked through both SS’s and couldn’t find it anywhere?
Howard says
There’s a $.50/2 cpn in the 1-4 SS, in the Healthy Essentials booklet. Another one in the J4U cpn center which is a mfr cpn, good only on the first 2 boxes, and can’t be doubled. There’s one at coupons.com (the link above) and another one at bettycrocker.com website. The printables may or may not be doubled, depending on your store’s and cashier’s preference. So you have 4 choices, none of which may be combined with any other.
Susan says
Looks like the .60/1 Nature Valley bar is NLA (not in the coupon database anymore either). Oh well…
deana says
looks like Safeway has Dawn on wasn’t there just a coupon for it?
Caro says
Yea, Mott’s Apple Juice for real. Poor hubby made a special trip to the store last week because I didn’t know the sale wasn’t on the apple juice, but on some other flavored stuff.
Howard says
Seattle’s Best coffee is $5 per 12-oz bag Friday only. (It’s $3.99 at Bi-Mart thru 1-21.) There is a $2 cpn at the coffee website, and supposedly a $1.50 cpn in 11-2 SS. Be careful with these cpns; they’re often marked “One coupon per customer”.
Howard says
Oops, the Mott’s AJ mfr cpn is a DND. I used one Sunday and the cashier did double it.
Jennifer says
Chex Mix and Bugles chips are $0.49 each when you combine the store coupon and double coupons from the SS inserts ($0.50/2). I was able to find two manufacturer’s coupons so that I can purchase the limit of 4.
I don't shop @ Walmart says
On Friday Motts juice is $1.67. Can we use $1/1 Store (?) coupon that was in 1/11/15 SS p2 and $1/1 MC? My store in WA doesn’t double
Thanks.
Howard says
Here’s the deal. The $1 Mott’s cpn with the Safeway logo (part of the Safeway ad page in SS 1-11) is definitely a mfr cpn, no matter what it may look like. Read the fine print and you will see you may not double it or combine it with another cpn. The same, exact cpn is also on the J4U page available for download, and is a one-time use mfr cpn. So you can use one of these, regardless of which one, per bottle. By the way, the regular Mott’s juice or sauce cpn says “Do not double” in the fine print, so both cpns are really the same. If you download the J4U cpn to your card, then that one should in theory apply only to the first bottle.
Bonnie says
I wish Safeway would make it clear which of their store coupons are actual store coupons and which are manufacturer coupons. I’ve been combining the two for 35 years, and I wasn’t happy last time I tried to use both & the clerk wouldn’t let me.
charolyn says
I agree that happened to with the Tide deal recently -they wouldn’t take the inad coupon & a manu, although I heard other cashiers/stores did on that one, so I am not sure the cashier was correct. I just had them put it back. Clarity, consistency would be helpful-I am happy to follow the rules-just need an idea what they are!!!
Howard says
The in-ad cpns, such as those on Tide and Mott’s, are often ambiguous. This particular Mott’s cpn specifies that it cannot be combined with any other cpn. I also found it in the J4U Coupon Center. If you click on the name of a product on J4U, it takes you to a pop-up screen that identifies it as either a mfr or store cpn. That’s how I confirmed it’s a mfr cpn. But they should print “Manufacturer Cpn” right on the one in the ad. RiteAid does that, but they also let you combine it with a paper mfr cpn. I went years refusing to combine them at RA until an expert and a cashier both told me it was ok.
chan says
did anyone find the $2/1 c for Garnier Fructis? wasn’t in my Oregonian RP
Howard says
Nope, not in the Oregonian, which rarely has Garnier cpns. I posted that info Sunday on the Walgreens and RA pages, ’cause both stores have deals on Garnier this week. I think the Columbian also didn’t get the Garnier.
Ashley says
Was there 2 RP that came on 1/11? I just see one and I can’t find the Garnier Hair Care coupon for $2.50
Tami Davis says
It’s not in mine either. 🙁
Howard says
See my comment above.
DeAnn says
I was in at Safeway again today and bought a couple more of the Starbucks holiday blend bagged coffee that is marked 50% off ( they are located with the christmas clearance items in back of store) and they are still ringing up 90% off, so with a -$2/2 coupon, they are free. I have bought over 10 so far, and have been giving them away to friends and coworkers.
JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) says
Thank you for this tip. They were 80% off at my store but I ended up getting 6 of them for under $6 with coupons. My husband was thrilled!
Bonnie says
The coffee I bought on Tuesday rang up at 90% off, too. I went back to the same store on Wednesday, armed with coupons, and bought 8 bags. This time they rang up at 50% off and came to $4 a bag after coupons (an OK price, but I wouldn’t have bought 8). Good thing I drink lots of coffee!
Howard says
The Homestyle soup cpn in my Sunday Oregonian was $.40/3.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Thanks. I was using the database because I didn’t have an insert yet and had to take my best guess which one we got. I’ll update it when I can get on my computer.
Melissa says
I got the cat when I bought gogurts and regular yogurt but not the greek (back to back transactions, different registers). I emailed the cat company Saturday but have not heard back.
JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) says
Did you hear anything back from them?
colleen says
I bought 10 of the Yoplait yogurt today at Safeway and didn’t get the $2 catalina. I told the cashier there should be one so she had me go to customer service and they called them. While waiting she rung it up again on her cash register and the catalina printed out. So for some reason it didn’t work on the cash register I used.
Jennifer says
Mott’s juice coupon is found in the 1/11/15 SS insert. 🙂
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Oops. Typo. Thanks. I will fix it.
signe says
i bought 10 yoplait cups yesterday and didn’t get the $2 catalina. did this catalina expire?
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
The catalina should be going on until the 25th of January. Try contacting catalina. http://support.catalinamarketing.com/?cn
