Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

I got a raincheck on this deal 2-3 weeks ago when it also was $1 after sale, cpns and doubler. Unable to find the product multiple times after that, but I found it today. I presented my raincheck and ended up with a negative total because the cashier took off an extra $3 per item. I finally coughed up the $6 once I convinced her she’d taken it off in error, and got the heck out of there. So yes, it really was $5 per box and $6 off the total when you buy 2. And no, I do not see it advertised.

Man. Wish I had grabbed a rain check.

Silverton doesn’t have it listed for $5 Friday either. It’s $8.99, and I can’t find a Buy 2/Get $6 off promotion.

This is an unadvertised deal. I know that most Oregon locations have it tagged. I haven’t tried it but if it isn’t marked I would still try it because I’m willing to bet they will still ring up at the sale price.

Yes, it worked for me yesterday. They rang up at $2 each for me (I bought 2), but the cashier took off another $6 from the raincheck, and I had to have someone else redo it so I could give back the $6.

I’d love to take advantage of this deal because my store was sold out last month but I don’t see it advertised in their ad as part of the $5 Friday. I see it for $8.99. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong ad?
