I’d have to verify with you here. Which is not something I often do! I take pleasure in reading a post that may make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
I went to buy Charmin yesterday at the $8.99 price and got a nice bonus . . . First I bought 4 and used 4 $1/1 (got the coupons from my last Charmin score) and doubled so ended up paying $ 29.96 for the TP. To this I added a nice pork shoulder (making posole this weekend!) and then used my $ 10 off $ 50 for a total of $ 40.
My receipt showed Buy 4, Get 5x bonus for gas for the charmin, so I got 140 extra gas points! I didn’t remember seeing this anywhere so nice surprise.
I cannot for the life of me find the safeway doubler in the safeway insert.
Am I missing something?
I’ve found that the Sunday ads for Safeway are put over or in place of the regular ads (for the week)..I’ve found the double coupons near the customer desk…hope this helps as I had problems finding the double coupons before…
The Safeway double coupons are only ion the Wednesday ads. I can find it at customer service or usually near a stand by the front door in the stores.
Is there a limit on the number of times you do the buy 4 save 4 deal in a single transaction at Safeway? THANKS:)
I would guess no limit, but someone will know for sure.
If you’re using doublers, you’d want to do the deals over more than one store visit since there’s a limit of 4 per doubler.
I can confirm that any number after 4 will take $1 off each item. So buy any number after 4 and you will still get the promotional savings. But Howard is right, strategically you’ll want to use four doublers at a time for the maximum savings.
It also helps if you have willing family members (those living in your home) who go shopping with you. Give them the coupons, send them into a line and you can get more deals…my adult children love doing this, as they get part of the bargains…
I saw your post about safeway nature valley bars and I see an error. our safeways changed their coupon policy awhile back.they wont double the same manufactor coupon.all 4 need to be different.
I think it depends on where you shop and if you know your cashier. I’ve been able to double 4 of the same coupons at my local store.
That is their official policy and seems to be rarely enforced, although some readers have reported it happening to them. I’ve never once had an issue with it, and I shop at a LOT of different Safeways in the Greater Portland area.
In Hillsboro-one store (esplanade) enforces it & the nearby Aloha one doesn’t!
Snapware at Freddies was on sale for 1.99 today in Vancouver. Free is fantastic!
I live in Central Oregon and usually always buy the Oregonian, but today they did not have any coupon inserts. The cashier said no one could have taken them out because they are positioned right by the cash register. We both were stumped as to why no inserts today. I had to buy our local Sunday paper which did have the inserts, but much smaller and missing lots of the coupons I wanted. The value of coupons is always listed on the front of the paper, and today the difference was over $100 between the Oregonian and the local paper. What a bummer for me.:(
Don’t know if it’s still true, but someone from the Oregonian told me years ago that the home-delivery customers get first dibs on the cpns, then any leftovers go to the stores.
