Can you please help – I do not understand the Excedrin Wags deal. Does this mean we can only use ONE manufacture coupon?
I’m so confused….
Thanks

I also had a long conversation with our local manager. She told me that they got a memo a few weeks ago about not taking BOGO anymore- and yet obviously, some of you were able to do it successfully. I won’t go to walgreens at all anymore unless there is something I really, really, really want and I’m feeling brave. As someone said the other day with regards to the troubles at Safeway, it’s too bad the corporate offices can’t view these discussions and know how much business they’re losing….
Went to the walgreens here in vancouver on 4th plain. the refused the BOGO coupon on the Right Guard ./
Its shocking how varying the attitudes and procedures are the different stores. I went to one in Spokane to do the Right Guard deal, and the cashier didn’t even flinch at the double BOGO. To be fair, it is strange, but when your register doesn’t beep and you and you dont have to push the transaction through, why would you care? I went to a second store just to test it out again, and the first things out of the girl’s mouth were “You can’t do two BOGO’s, it won’t take it”. I asked her please try and showed her the coupon from the previous store to show it worked and was legit. She got testy as if I was asking her to take a punch for me or something! Its true…you get treated like a criminal for being creative and frugal….these stores aren’t loosing any money (the reason why the double BOGO works is because they’re being reimbursed face value for one anyway, so its as if it never happened). The lack of consistency isn’t going to deter couponers from using coupons….I just wont go back at all.
It’s the being treated like a criminal that bothers me. When I was talking to the cashier today, she got more and more upset as I calmly, yet assertively told her that “Yes, you can take a BOGO coupon. It’s in your policy.” She finally said, “I’m going to call the Manager.”
And, I wish I could share with you all her tone of voice, because that part is the most important part. She said it in the way any of us would say “That’s it. I’m going to call the police.”
As I’m writing this, I’m sort of laughing, because this sounds so ridiculous! I’m using a coupon, not holding the store up!
I don’t know if anyone will read this…but thought I’d share about my Wags experience today.
I purchased (2) Right Guard Bodywashes, priced at $4.99 each at my Wags (Lake Oswego, OR). The cashier didn’t believe me that I could use the BOGO coupon on top of the BOGO sale. She ended up calling a Manager over, who okayed the $4.49 coupon.
This is really a much longer story, because she got very upset through the whole thing (I was calm but assertive.) So, after I left, I was thinking about what happened, and it really bothered me.
So, I went back and spoke to this Manager for awhile. I asked him if he would please educate the cashiers on the proper policy. Because, clearly HE knows the proper policy (he came over earlier in the week, when I ALSO had a cashier – a different one- freak out about a coupon I was using.) We had a nice conversation where I explained that I didn’t appreciate being treated like a criminal for using a coupon.
I had recently had a $300 prescription filled there. And I explained that I don’t like being treated kindly when I have a $300 purchase and then being treated like a criminal when I am trying to use a $4.49 coupon. Not cool.
So, I hope that by having this conversation with the Manager it will help others who are trying to coupon at Wags have a better experience.
I just saw Hefty One Click Quart Freezer bags on clearance for $1.37 at Wags on 164th in Vancouver. 37cents – not too shabby…
I wonder if you could get them for that price BOGO next week (assuming they are still in stock).
Now the big question is…drumroll please….will we get the bogo Right Guard coupon in Portland????
Yes-I was hoping to get a bunch of Lysol wipes at Rite Aid this week, but didn’t come in our inserts, so I can only get two with the printable ones available.
I did already send a complaint about the loss of deals since we got the card system, but today found out another reason (and they have totally lost ALL my business now)-tried to use a 2.00 coupon on the pediacare, which cost 1.99=the computer beeped loudly and I was told they no longer mark coupons down like they used to (even .01 apparently!). So I just told them to put it back. They were very rude about it also.
