We’re just hours away from the first College Football Playoff National Championship game and I spent the morning on KATU News chatting about inexpensive ways to dress your table for your Oregon Ducks viewing party! Here are some of the ideas I found after some intense Pinterest research:
I love, love, love this idea. I originally found this idea for a full table covering which is great but also a bit expensive. I found this floor mat at the Dollar Tree and made the yard lines with athletic tape. It took me about five minutes to complete and can be used as the bottom of a centerpiece or even a larger place mat. My boys have also been playing football scenarios on it all day.
Candy Bar! The Dollar Tree has several green and yellow-only packages of candy. If you want more variety, you can purchase packs with multiple colors and just pull out the green and yellow ones. We cut the green licorice in half to fit in the smaller dish. (Idea inspiration here.)
This is such a simple way to add decoration to your table. Get green and yellow colored soda, cover the labels with cardstock (find a pack at Fred Meyer, Walmart, or Target or buy single sheets at a copy center like Office Depot or FedEx Kinko’s), and then cut out Oregon O’s using a template you print off the internet (I searched Google Images to find one, printed it out, cut out the O, used it as a stencil to trace on the colored cardstock, then cut out the colored O’s).
I also taped the O to Dollar Tree green cups. They work well as a serving cup or drinking cup.
Ducks Lemonade! Just pour lemonade in a clear pitcher and add cut lemons and limes. (Idea inspiration here.)
I’m absolutely nuts over this idea. Take a canning jar and paint football stripes on the non-embossed side. I used craft paint from Michael’s, but you could also use Wite-Out or even athletic tape if you want the stripes to be temporary. Now serve any brown colored soda (cola, root bear), iced coffee, or even a dark beer and you have the perfect football bevie! (Idea inspiration here.)
How about a healthy option at your table? Grab some green and yellow veggies and whip up some Buttermilk Ranch Dip, White Bean Spread or buy any white dressing/dip and you have the perfect Ducks veggie tray! (Idea inspiration here.)
Another option for Ducks-colored food is yellow tortilla chips and guacamole (add a lime or the avocado pit on top to keep your guac green). (Idea inspiration here.)
