Just got the .99 ea wyb 5 deal. Found Hershey’s brand chips in many spots in the store, but they were marked as 2.50. Came up as 1.99 at the price check machine, so figured they might come up as .99. They did!
Caro says
I wonder why the Coupon Database shows $1.00 off 1 bag of Hershey Kisses in the 12/3 SS, but here in SE PDX, the q is $1.00 off 2?

I’m reasonably sure by now that the cpn database is national, and often includes cpns we don’t see in Portland, and sometimes-discrepant values. I point out these omissions and differences all the time on the FLNW FM and Walgreens pages. When my mom lived in Florida and I’d go visit, her SS and RP differed a lot from ours, and so did many of the cpn values.
Caro says
Well, whoever runs that database should fix it, right? LOL!
Howard says
Haha. There always be regional differences among coupons. If you look at the SundayCouponPreview site, they list the weekly cpns in alpha order for each circular, but include a disclaimer about regional differences.

Really hate the new FM ads…. “must by 5”. Such as today…. 18 ct. eggs. Who buys 5 of those? If they did, they would go to Costco.
I am complaining on their website.
Howard says
This is their new marketing strategy. Although Kroger had a very good 3rd quarter, their stock (and those of other food companies) took a big hit earlier when Amazon bought Whole Foods. The Must Buy 4 and 5 deals, of course, are mix and match. It’s not unreasonable to expect customers to buy a carton of eggs, a cream cheese or two, some sugar, peanut butter, etc. When I had a large family at home, a deal like this would have been easy to put together. Many of Walgreens and RA’s weekly deals require purchase of 2 or more in order to get the sale price.

Good luck on getting a response. When they switched to gallons of milk from 1/2 gallons on their bi-weekly ads I complained and put on their FB page and no response. In fact on FB they won’t approve negative posts.
I’m single and only use milk for cooking, there is no way I can use a gallon before it goes bad. Thankfully Safeway has stepped up on the 1/2 gal sale and have switched to their milk.
Howard says
Same here. It’s hard enough going through a half-gallon before it goes bad. What really hurt was when they pulled the OJ from the 99-cent deal. Now it’s about $2.79 and virtually never on sale. FM did have the 99-cent milk a couple weeks ago, but only as part of the Buy 5 or whatever sale that week.
Sarah says
I don’t mind the combinations of 4 or 5, but I think there was one week that it was 10 items to get the sale price, and THAT was ridiculous!
Howard says
That’s true. They had that about two weeks in a row. But it was easy to buy 8 cans of Progresso soup and toss in another couple items.
