Bacon: yes this is about as low as it goes these days. For this same price-regular price at Thriftway I get their ends packages-lots of regular size pieces-thicker cut – & some chunks, plus it is much more meatier-very tasty.
The booming popularity of bacon just amazes me. I like it and eat it occasionally, but it’s one of the worst things you can put into your mouth. Yet, despite an overall decline in meat consumption, a supposed increase in health consciousness, and a doubling of its price, bacon is bigger than ever. Go figure.
Meat in general has been more expensive across the board.
