Portland Family Fun Guide: Magness Memorial Tree Farm
Magness Memorial Tree Farm (Sherwood) Summer is here and sometimes as a family all we need is just some time away from home but close by. My son and I love going to Magness Tree Farm, located in Sherwood, Oregon. We can choose between loads of trails to take depending on our fancy. My son usually chooses the straight up the mountain path while I go for the lazy walk. We have had many "discussions" and he usually wins out since I can't talk myself out of not getting healthy. Paved trail heading to the small bridge. So beautiful even in the rain. This place is really nice. Many trails are handicapped accessible. There are cabins to Keep Reading

Ten for Teens 2017: Give a gift card to a local teen in foster care this Christmas
Ten for Teens 2017 Five years ago, Frugal Living NW featured Welcome Boxes for children entering foster care as an opportunity for all of you to give back to our community. The drive was a raving success as the community showed how much it values vulnerable children in the Portland Metro area. These boxes communicated a much needed message of value, dignity, and worth at a time of great vulnerability and uncertainty in these children's lives. And now we have another opportunity to serve this Christmas season. We're back again this year with our big Ten for Teens giving opportunity! Over the last four years, Frugal Living NW readers have Keep Reading

Discounted tickets to Brick Fest LIVE in Portland (LEGO Fan Experience at PDX Expo Center)
BrickFest Live is coming to the Portland Expo Center August 19 and 20. The Brick Fest Live LEGO® Fan Experience is filled with hands-on attractions and activities engineered to inspire, educate, and entertain. It seems pretty cool. I was offered four free tickets in exchange for promoting the show and giving you a promotion code to save $3 off each admission. Sounds good -- I'm always up for free stuff. But then I researched ticket prices a bit further and discovered that the promotion did NOT give you the very best deal. I found two better ones: 4 tickets from the company's website with the $3 off code + fees = $85.80 4 tickets from Goldstar + Keep Reading
