These Born Poly Riding Boots are 33% off. Seriously, RUN DO NOT WALK. Lowest I have ever seen them (even during Black Friday or Cyber Monday) and they are worth twice this much.
Let’s have a chat about boots. GOOD boots are amazing. And go with everything. Not so good boots? Not so good. But how do you know where you should spend money and which is the most comfortable and will they last?
Outside of my snow and rain boots, I own two pairs of fancier boots, one black and one brown pair. I am extremely picky about clothes and shoes and they need to be as close to perfect as possible or else I fly into an ill-fitting clothes-induced rage.
These Born Poly Riding Boots popped up in my email and Facebook and Instagram feed over and over and over. I ignored them for as long as I possibly could because they are NOT cheap, but I kept finding my way back to them like some sort of boot magnet.
I finally gave in. And they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn in my entire life. I basically want to sleep in them. I have walked all over the place in them and have never had a blister, sore arches, smooshed toes or anything else even remotely attached to uncomfortable shoes. And they go with EVERYTHING. Jeans, leggings, even a cute and breezy swing dress in the spring or summer.
Here’s what I learned after ordering two separate pairs and returning one:
- The wide calf is WIDE. I actually measured within the range of the wide calf boot and it was just too big. I could have fit one of my kids’ legs in with mine and I do NOT have small calves. (If you’re concerned, order both the regular and wide calf if available and send one back after you’ve tried them on)
- I went with my regular size and initially thought they were a little too snug, but after one wear the leather stretched just enough to make them perfect.
- I have wide feet and would still recommend ordering true to size as these have molded to my feet.
- I do wear them with thinner socks, so if you want to wear them with a thicker, warmer sock, it would be worthwhile to go up a half size. The true to size fit would not necessarily accommodate a thick sock.
These are available in regular and wide calf in Brown Full Grain Leather and wide calf in Black Full Grain Leather.

Thanks for posting about this boot. I already have the distressed black from last winter and they are absolutely amazing. when I saw this sale I figured buying brown was a no brainier… But it’s not distressed. I already received in the mail and I’m a little worried about how stiff they are. Do they loosen up quick? The leather is bunching up in a crease at the top of my foot as my knee goes forward. I’m wondering if the color you have is the same thickness. Please help, not sure if I should return or if I need to wear them in!

I’m so sorry, I just saw your comment! What did you decide to do?
These boots loosened up quite a bit for me right out of the gate. I wore them around the house for about half a day and they were definitely tight when I first put them on, but loosened up to perfection by the end of the day.
I hope they worked out for you!
